UFC 293 Set for September 9, To Be First of 3 UFC PPVs in Sydney

After blockbuster announcements for their two other PPVs, UFC has now revealed the date and location of UFC 293 PPV.

UFC President Dana White announced via Youtube that the promotion has a deal with New South Wales(NSW) Goverment in Australia to host 3 UFC PPVs in the state over the next 4 years. The first of these events will be UFC 293, which will air on September 10, 2023, local time(September 9 in US time).

Travel Packages and VIP experience tickets are expected to be on sale soon on UFC website. NSW Premier Chris Minns announced an AUD$16 million deal with UFC to bring its event to Sydney and “showcase the Harbour City” to international viewers. The events are expected to inject “tens of millions of dollars” into the NSW visitor economy.

UFC 293 will be the eleventh PPV event from UFC in 2023, which is its 30th anniversary year. A venue was not announced for the event though. No matches are announced for the event so far.

However, Dana White announced earlier that Israel Adesanya’s next middleweight title defense would be in Australia. White announced that Adesanya would defend against the winner of Robert Whittaker vs Dracius Du Plessis fight at UFC 290. Adesanya defeated Whittaker to win UFC Middleweight Championship for the first time.

Australian UFC Fighter Tai Tuivasa was promoting the event in Sydney after the announcement. He is also expected to be on the card. Keep tuned in for more details.
