A new middleweight bout was added to the card of the UFC 289 PPV event.
According to the latest reports, Nassourdine Imavov is set to fight against Chris Curtis in a middleweight bout at UFC 289 on June 10, 2023.
Mike Heck of MMA Fighting was the first one to report this matchup which was later confirmed by multiple other sources as well.
Nassourdine Imavov’s winning streak was recently snapped by Sean Strickland earlier this year in January. This was also the light heavyweight debut of Imavov. His last win came against Joaquin Buckley in September 2022.
On the other hand, Chris Curtis’ winning UFC run was stopped by Jack Hermansson. The latter also broke Curtis’ three-fights winning streak. Curtis rebounded from this loss by defeating Joaquin Buckley at UFC 282. However, he lost his most recent match against Kevin Gastelum at UFC 287.
Both these fighters are coming off losses. Hence, it will be interesting to see who will return to the winning path again when they collide at UFC 289 on June 10.
