Jorge Masvidal Retired After Losing Against Gilbert Burns at UFC 287
Jorge Masvidal has officially announced his retirement from MMA.
Masvidal competed against Gilbert Burns in the co-main event of UFC 287 where he lost via unanimous decision. After the match, Jorge Masvidal revealed to Joe Rogan that he is officially done with the MMA.
Jorge Masvidal is quite proud of whatever he accomplished during his 20-year-long MMA career. After his fight, he stated that he doesn’t feel the same when he gets inside the octagon as it’s been 20 long years.
Masvidal also thanked his fans to support him throughout his career. He stated that 20 years ago, UFC inspired him to chase his dream, and after 50-something fights later, he hopes he inspires someone else to chase their dreams.
Jorge Masvidal was one of the most popular MMA fighters. He is renowned for his flying knee which also earns him the record of the fastest knockout in UFC. He defeated Ben Askren in just 5 seconds with this knee at UFC 239.
Masvidal ends his career with a four-fight losing streak. He lost against Gilbert Burns, Colby Covington, and Kamaru Usman in his last four matches.
