Derrick Lewis Renews UFC Contract For Eight Fights

Derrick Lewis has re-signed an eight-fight deal with the UFC.

During a press conference on Wednesday evening, UFC President Dana White announced that Lewis has signed an eight-fight contract with the UFC, marking the end of his brief time as a free agent.

Derrick Lewis, the former UFC heavyweight title challenger, has won two fights and lost three in his five recent bouts. Lewis’s recent bout was against Marcos Rogério de Lima at UFC 291 event, where he won by KO in a matter of seconds.

Lewis ended his three-fight losing streak after winning against Marcos Rogério de Lima. Lewis experienced back-to-back losses to Tai Tuivasa, Sergei Pavlovich, and Serghei Spivac.

Derrick Lewis is currently ranked 10th in the UFC heavyweight division. He is also a two-time title challenger. Lewis faced Daniel Cormier for the undisputed title in 2018. He also faced Ciryl Gane for the interim Heavyweight title in 2021 at UFC 265.

Lewis is a 39-fights veteran with 27-11 record. In his 27 UFC bouts, he is currently at 18-9.
