The Korean Zombie, Chan Sung Jung, declared his retirement from MMA after the UFC Singapore event.

Chan Sung Jung was set to face Max Holloway in a featherweight bout at UFC Fight Night 225 event. During the fight, former UFC champion Max Holloway secured a third-round knockout win against Chan Sung Jung at the main event of UFC Fight Night 225.

Following his defeat, Jung announced his retirement, expressing that he believed he could defeat Holloway, but that outcome did not happen. He further mentioned that, with no more opportunities ahead, he has decided to conclude his fighting career.

Jung’s UFC journey started in 2011 and he won the first 3 bouts under the promotion’s banner. He got a title match against Jose Aldo at UFC 163, but failed to win the title. After that bout, The Korean Zombie has more losses than wins.

He won only 1 bout in his last 4 bouts. Before the bout against Max Holloway, Jung was also defeated by Alexander Volkanovski at the UFC 273 event, where he lost by KO. However, he remained a fan favorite all along.

Chan Sung Jung’s Pro MMA record ends with 17-8, and his UFC record ends with 7-5.
