Zelina Vega has made her return to WWE SmackDown this week and is announced for the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match.

Fightful Select reported earlier on Friday that Vega is listed as a heel in the SmackDown roster internally. Then, on last night’s SmackDown, Sonya Deville announced Vega as a participant for Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match.

Vega made her entrance for the first time in her second run in WWE. She was released from her WWE contract back in November 2020 after some backstage issues. She was reportedly seen at WWE Performance Center for the last few months, which indicated that she might have signed another contract with WWE.

On her return, Vega claimed that she would win the MITB briefcase and would later become the Women’s Champion. Liv Morgan confronted Sonya and Vega for being overlooked for the Money in the Bank spot. This led to Morgan vs Vega singles match which Morgan won via schoolboy roll-up.

Two more spots are currently vacant in the Money in the Bank Ladder match. Nikki Cross, Alexa Bliss, Asuka and Naomi have qualified from RAW while Carmella and Zelina Vega are announced from SmackDown.

Keep tuned in for more updates on WWE Money in the Bank.
