WWE WrestleMania 38 Results Night 2: Reigns vs Lesnar Live Updates
We are onto WWE WrestleMania 38 Night 2 now with live results and updates on April 3, 2022, from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX.
Night 1 gave us some emphatic moments in Steve Austin’s return to the ring, Cody Rhodes coming back to WWE, Bianca winning the RAW Women’s Championship among others. What does day 2 of WrestleMania 38 has in store for us? The main event is the biggest WrestleMania match of all time as Roman Reigns clashes with Brock Lesnar in an Undisputed Universal Championship match. Before that, we will see two legends clash in AJ Styles vs Edge.
RAW Tag Team Championship will be on the line as RK-Bro defends against The Street Profits and Alpha Academy. A similar case is for Women’s Tag Team titles as Carmella & Queen Zelina defend their belts against the teams of Sasha Banks & Naomi vs Liv Morgan & Rhea Ripley vs Natalya & Shayna Baszler.
Omos faces his biggest threat in Bobby Lashley until now while Pat McAfee faces the unruly Austin Theory. Sami Zayn and Johnny Knoxville complete their rivalry in an Anything Goes match to complete the card. New Day’s Kofi Kingston and Xavier Wood match against Ridge Holland and Sheamus will also shift to day 2, who will be accompanied by Butch.

- RK-Bro(Randy Orton & Riddle)(c) defeated The Street Profits(Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) vs Alpha Academy(Otis & Chad Gable) in a Triple Threat tag team match via pinfall to retain WWE RAW Tag Team Championship.
- Bobby Lashley defeated Omos in a singles match via pinfall.
- Johnny Knoxville defeated Sami Zayn in “Anything Goes” match via pinfall.

Live Updates from WWE WrestleMania 38- April 3, 2022
The kick-off show(available in the above video) is live for night 2 with Kayla Braxton, Jerry Lawler, Booker T, Kevin Patrick and Peter Rosenberg.
The main show is going live now with America is Beautiful performance from Jacy James Decker. We get a brief recap of night 1 now. Mark Wahlberg is back for the intro package for night 2.
Surprise, surprise. It’s Triple H who is coming out to the ring to open the show. He hugs his daughters in the front row. He does his Spitting Water bit, in a suit, and the poses in the corner. He is taking in all the adulation from the crowd and the crowd is also responding with huge cheers. Hunter picks up his wrestling boots and puts them in the middle of the ring. He takes the mic and says he just wanted to come out here to say thank you. He welcomes us to WrestleMania. Huge pyro kicks off at the stage. As we cut back to the ring, HHH is gone, but his boots are still there. He hugs his daughters in the front row and then also hugs a kid near the entrance ramp.
Gable Steveson is announced as he waves at the crowd from the front row.
RK-Bro(Randy Orton & Riddle)(c) vs The Street Profits(Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) vs Alpha Academy(Otis & Chad Gable) – Triple Threat Match for WWE RAW Tag Team Championship Match
All three team make their entrance one by one. We get a brief video package for the build-up of this match. Riddle, Gable and Ford start the match. Gable does shoosh and gets slapped by Riddle and gets kicked by Ford. Ford hits a big clothesline and Riddle counters with his move. Gable breaks the pin. Everyone starts to get involved now for a quick start. Ford hits everyone with a tope suicida over the ring post. Gable hits a moonsault to take others down. Everyone is down on the floor.
Riddle is unloading on Gable. Otis gets the blind tag and runs over Riddle with a double team lariat. Otis continues to hit more blows on Riddle. He goes to hit a standing splash followed by a powerslam. Otis puts on a chinlock. He hits a knee to the back. Gable tags in, who hits a Northern Light suplex for a two-count. He puts on a lock on the leg. Riddle kicks him away. Ford hits a dropkick to Gable. Gable hits monkey flip on Ford.
Dawkins comes in but gets rocked by Otis. Riddle kicks away Otis by Gable comes in for a ankle lock. Riddle kicks him away. Dawkins stops him for a while before Riddle hits an enziguiri. Orton and Ford come in. Orton hits a clothesline, a tackle and a powerslam. Ford avoids draping DDT and takes Orton to the announce table. Orton drops Ford and then Gable on the announce table with side suplex.
Back to the ring, Orton & Riddle hit draping DDT on Street Profits. They get ready for RKO but Alpha Academy pull them out. Otis hits a big lariat on Dawkins. Academy drops Ford face first to the mat, but he kicks out. Riddle sends Otis over the turnbuckle. Riddle is dumped to the floor again. Street Profits hits blockbuster on Gable, but he kicks out.
Orton comes in and Dawkins hits a spinebuster on him. Dawkins hits a suicide dive on Alpha Academy on the floor. Ford was looking for a frog splash but Riddle hits him with an RKO. Ford rolls out of the ring. Gable comes in and Orton hits him with an RKO to get the pin and the win.
Winner – RK-Bro(Randy Orton & Riddle)
After the match, RK-Bro celebrate their win. Street Profits come back to the ring with their glasses for RK-Bro. They also bring in Gable Steveson from the front row for a toast. Gable comes in and throws Steveson’s glass. Others leave Steveson and Gable in the ring to settle things. Gable tells Steveson to shooosh as he removes his shirt. Steveson smacks the mic out of Gable’s hand and hits him with a belly-to-belly suplex. He then joins Rk-Bro and Profits on the ramp for a toast.
Omos vs Bobby Lashley
Lashley circle around Omos. He starts with kick, which is caught by Omos. Omos smacks his back to drop Lashley. Lashley hits a kick to midsection. He goes for a suplex but Omos stops it and hits more blows. Omos goes for a vice grip. Lashley breaks it, but could not overpower Omos. Omos hits a big chop to the head drop Lashley again. Omos sends Lashley in the corner and hits a couple of corner splashes. Lashley avoids the third one and Omos crashes to the corner.
Lashley hits a big running boot in the corner. He goes for the Hurt lock but Omos hits him with an elbow to stop the lock. Omos hits a clothesline before dumping Lashley to the floor. Lashley gets back up from the floor and rocks Omos on the apron. Lashley jumps from the second rope, but gets caught midair. Omos hits a military press slam. Lashley gets up after a while but Omos puts him in a bear hug.
Lashley hits an elbow and Omos decides to smash him in the corner. Omos puts on another bear hug. The crowd gets behind Lashley and he manages to send Omos to the corner. Lashley hits big punches in succession. He slams Omos to the corner. Omos stops a suplex once again. Lashley finally manages to hit a suplex on Omos. Lashley follows with a spear. He hits another spear and gets the pin.

Sami Zayn vs Johnny Knoxville – “Anything Goes” Match
Sami runs over Johnny with a Helluva kick righ away. Sami takes him to the floor and stomps him. He sends Johnny into the barricade just in front of Jackass crew. Sami taunts the Jackass crew and they are needed to be held back. Knoxville sprays Sami with fire extinguisher. Knoxville brings out trash can, steel plate, a crutch and more equipment. Sami kicks at Johnny’s midsection and takes him to the ring.
Sami starts to nail Johnny with steel tray, crutches and then a trash can. Sami brings out a table to the ring now. He then finds out a table with mouse trap under the ring. He pulls it out. Johnny gets a couple of tray can lids and smacks Sami with them. He nails him with a trash can before setting up a table. Sami hits an exploder through the table. He covers and gets a two-count. Sami goes for another helluva kick but Johnny surprises him with an air horn.
Party Boy gets in the ring now and dances around to taunt Sami. He rips out his costume and is in his underwear now. Sami runs over and sends him to the floor. Johnny rolls over Sami for a two-count. Sami drops Johnny with a big shot.
Sami kicks Party Boy under the ring. Weeman of Jackass Forever attacks Sami and unloads with punches. He hits Sami with a body slam in the ring. Johnny hits a tornado DDT to get a near fall. Sami drops Johnny and then hits a big kick on Weeman to send him out of the ring. Sami goes to the top but Knoxville fires up the pyro from that corner. Sami drops to the turnbuckle. Knoxville hits a bowling ball into his groin. He then uses the kicks to hit a low blow.
Knoxville brings out an electric shocker. Sami runs to the floor and crashes into the big a** spot finger. Back to the ring, Sami hits a suplex. Sami goes to the top but Johnny uses tongs to hit Sami in the midsection and drops Sami into the mousetrap laden table. Other crew members from the Jackass Forever crew come to ringside and bring out a big mousetrap. Knoxville traps Sami’s shoulder under the big mousetrap and gets the pin.

Carmella & Queen Zelina(c) vs Sasha Banks & Naomi vs Liv Morgan & Rhea Ripley vs Natalya & Shayna Baszler – Fatal 4-Way WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match
Naomi comes out to the stage for her entrance. Sasha Banks is out in a neon sports car. Naomi hops into it to join in Sasha’s entrance. Liv Morgan is out as Catwoman while Rhea Ripley is doning a mask trying to be batman(but it looks more like a playboy bunny mask). Natalya and Shayna Baszler come out next. Queen Zelina follows them out with Carmella. Corey Graves is drolling over his bride-to-be walking down WrestleMania aisle.
Zelina and Rhea were about to start but Carmella is tagged in. Carmella goes to tag to Sasha Banks. Rhea asks Sasha for a show of strength and drops Sasha immediately. Sasha was looking for a bulldog but Rhea stops it. Rhea also stops a backstabber. Liv asks to be tagged in. Shanya and Natalya trip Naomi while Zelina and Carmella trip Rhea. Liv and Sasha hit the two pairs with suicide dives. They return to the ring. Sasha drops Liv. Liv comes back with codebreaker. Natalya gets a blind tag before Liv hits Sasha with Oblivion.
Natalya nails Liv with a kick. Shayna comes in and hits a big knee. Shayna stomps on Liv’s ankle. She puts on a foot lock and owrks on the ankle. Liv hits somes kicks. She ends up hitting an enziguiri. Carmella takes the blind tag before Shayna hits a big clothesline. Carmella slams Liv into the corner. Zelina hits Code Red and Rhea breaks the pin. Everyone starts to get involved with big moves one by one. Naomi and Liv Morgan are in the ring.
Sasha tags in for double team. Shayna drops Naomi while Sasha was dealt with by Carmella and Zelina. Rhea and Liv join either side for tower of doom spots simultaneously. Naomi kicks out of a pin from Liv. Rhea comes in and they hit a Riptide/Backbreaker combo. Sasha breaks the pin. Natalya steals a pin and sends Rhea to the ring post. Shayna comes and drops Naomi with a double team. Liv breaks the pin.
Shayna drops Liv to the floor. Natalya comes in for double team Hart attack but Zelina pulls her out. Carmella hits a superkick on Shayna. Naomi hits a kick to Carmella. Sasha hits a frog splash for a near fall. Sasha goes for a bank statement but Zelina saves her. Sasha hits a Meteora on Zelina on the floor. Sasha returns to the ring and Naomi comes in for a double team bullbog to get the pin and the win.
Winner – Sasha Banks & Naomi(new Women’s Tag Team Champions)
AJ Styles vs Edge
AJ comes out first. Edge is sitting on an iron throne in his entrance. Both men are in the ring now. AJ tries to rush Edge but the referee stops him. Edge with more mind games before a side headlock. They run the ropes and AJ hits a dropkick. He follows with a couple of armdrags. AJ hits a kick to the hamstring. The referee separates them. They circle the ring again and the crowd is hyped. AJ with a side headlock now.
Back and forth reversal. Edge hits a forearm but AJ avoids an early spear. AJ is sent to the floor but comes back quickly to catch Edge on the apron with a knee. AJ hits a sliding knee from the apron. Back to the ring, AJ goes for a springboard 450-splash but Edge gets his knees up. Edge starts to work on AJ now with knees to the midsection.
He follows with some chops. Edge whips Styles hard into the corner. AJ nails an elbow, a chop and a forearm. Edge puts him in an abdominal stretch. Edge hits eblows to the ribs before putting the stretch again. AJ hits a hiptoss. Edge hits a shoulder breaker. He stomps on AJ in the corner. The referee separates them again. AJ swings with a big punch to drop Edge to the mat. He also falls down. AJ charges to the corner and Edge sends him into the corner.
Edge goes for a suplex, but AJ counters with his own suplex to send Edge into the turnbuckles. AJ unloads with big punches in the ground and pound. He goes to work the arm but Edge hits an armbreaker. Edge puts on a stretch. AJ gets to his feet but misses Pele kick. Edge goes for a crossface but AJ puts his foot on the ropes. AJ avoids a tackle on the apron and hits a DDT.
AJ drags himself to the top. Edge nails a couple of punches. Edge tries superplex but AJ slips out. He kicks at Edge’s knee and takes him on his shoulders for a torture rack. He hits a rack bomb for a near fall. Edge counters the second rack bomb with a DDT for a near fall of his own. AJ hits a pele kick next and both men are down now. They start trading strikes now, followed byt headbutts and chops. AJ hits a Pele kick and goes for a Calf Crusher. Edge counters with the Labell lock version on crossface. AJ gets to the ropes.
Edge hits an inverted bulldog. Edge hits a slingshot powerbomb for a close two-count. Edge takes AJ to the top. AJ nails a punch and both men slip to the apron. AJ pulls Edge up and hits a superplex on the apron. Both men are down on the floor now. The referee starts to count down and they both beat it at 9. AJ hits a springboard 450-splash to get a near fall.
Edge avoids Phenomenal forearm. AJ avoids the spears and hits the Styles Clash. He rolls Edge over for a sitout pin but Edge kicks out. AJ gets ready for the phenomenal forearm now. Damian Preist is there at the ringside for some reason. AJ gets distracted and Edge counters his Phenomenal Forearm with a spear to get the pin and the win.
Winner – Edge
After the match, AJ rolls to the floor while Edge recovers on his knees. Damian Priest gets into the ring and gets on his knees. Both men start smiling and raise their hands to show that they work together now.
New Day(Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) vs Sheamus & Ridge Holland(w/ Butch)
Sheamus and Ridge Holland enter with Butch, who is extremely agitated for some reason. New Day make their entrance and get rushed by Sheamus and Holland. Butch takes away their robes and slams them on the announce table. Woods and Kofi are in singlets like Big E use to wear.
The bell ring and Kofi hits Holland with Trouble in Paradise. Sheamus pulls Holland out to stop the pin. Kofi hits a suicide dive on Holland on the floor. Back to the ring, Woods tags in and hits a superkick. Butch is too agitated and tries to get involved. Sheamus stops him and pulls him from the apron. Kofi is dropped to the floor. Woods drops Holland with a superkick. The referee gets distracted by Butch as he once again tries to attack. Sheamus hits Woods with a Brogue kick behind the referee. Holland hits a jackhammer on Woods to get the pin.
Winner – Sheamus & Ridge Holland
After the match, Holland and Sheamus celebrate. Butch once again attacks Woods. Sheamus and Holland pull him apart. Butch rips Woods’ beard as Sheamus and Holland control him.
We get the recap of Cody Rhodes’ arrival yesterday and his win over Seth Rollins.
We get introduced to this year’s Hall of Fame Inductees once again. The Undertaker comes out to the stage for a loud response from the crowd.
Austin Theory vs Pat McAfee
Vince McMahon comes out to the ring before either competitors. He introduces Austin Theory as the Future WWE Universal Champion. Theory makes his entrance. Theory invites boos as he enters the ring. Theory takes a selfie with Vince McMahon as the crowd chants “You Suck!” Vince McMahon leaves the rings. Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders come out for Pat McAfee’s entrance. McAfee punts a football into the crowd.
Theory goes for a shot but McAfee ducks it and rains down with his rights. Theory jabs at his throat and pushes him down. Theory hits a punch. McAfee avoids a tackle with a leapfrog and hits a clothesline. McAfee hits a hurricanrana to get a two-count. The crowd is hyped with the match so far. Theory takes advantage as McAfee showboats. He hits blows to the back. The crowd is behind McAfee fully.
Theory hits a suplex. He shouts at the crowd to shut up, driving “You Suck” chants. Theory hits another suplex. McAfee turns another a suplex into one of his own. McAfee tackles Theory off the apron and onto the announce table. McAfee comes down and stomps on Theory, right in front of McMahon. McAfee gets his commentary headset on and says he is beatind Theory’s a**. Vince McMahon does not look pleased.
Back to the ring, McAfee goes to the top. The crowd right behind him. McAfee goes for a Swanton bomb but Theory moves out. Theory hits a spin out backbreaker. Theory goes to the top and asks the crowd to chant for him. He gets boos in reply. McAfee meets him at the top and looks for a superplex. Theory pushes him but he lands on his feet. McAfee comes back to the top and hits a superplex. McAfee drags himself for a cover but Theory kicks out.
McAfee gets up and misses for a punt kick. Theory brings him down and hits a kick. Theory with some ground and pound. He goes for ATL but McAfee slips out and get the three-count with a schoolboy pin.
Winner – Pat McAfee
After the match, McAfee celebrates with a corner pose. Vince McMahon moves to the ringside where Theory was down. He is giving Theory some instructions. McAfee taunts McMahon to get into the ring. Vince teases for a bit but then starts to go away. Vince stops and removes his shirt.
Vince McMahon vs Pat McAfee
Vince gets into the ring and brings in a referee. Vince distracts Pat and Theory drops him from behind. The bell rings and Vince drops Pat with clotheslines. Vince struts around and beats down McAfee for a while. McAfee gets hyped up. Vince distracts the referee and Theory trips McAfee on the other side. Theory drives McAfee’s groin into the ring post.
Vince beats down McAfee a bit more. Theory hands him a Dallas Cowboy football. Vince teases punting the ball into the crowd a few times before punting it into McAfee’s midsection. Vince covers McAfee and gets the pin.
Winner – Vince McMahon
Theory comes into the ring and poses in the corner for McMahon. They celebrate for a while. Suddenly, the glass breaks and Stone Cold Steve Austin’s music hits. Austin walks down to the ring and gets in Vince’s face. Vince tells Theory to attack Austin. Austin htis Theory with a stunner. Vince calls for a truce. Austin gets a couple of beers and hands one down to Vince. They cheer and drink beer. Austin hits a kick to midsection and Vince collapses. Austin picks him up and hits a stunner.
Austin celebrates with beer bash. He kicks Vince away from the ring. McAfee is called into the ring now for a beer bash. They celebrate for a while with more beer bash. Austin then hits McAfee with a stunner. Austin with more beer bash until we cut to a break.
We get a video package for WrestleMania 39.
Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar- WWE & Universal Championship Unification Match
We are down to the main event now with the video package. Roman Reigns makes his entrance first. He is accompanied by Paul Heyman and The Usos. A huge pyro kicks off as Roman poses in the ring. He takes a mic and asks the crowd to acknowledge him. Brock Lesnar comes out after this and gets a huge pyro. Roman stares down Brock as he circles around the ring.
Mike Rome takes the mic to call the main event. He calls it the Biggest WrestleMania match of all time. The Undisputed Universal Championship Unification Match. Paul Heyman takes away the mic as he goes to introduce Roman Reigns. Heyman introduces Roman as the Beastslayer who will take down the beast, the reigning, defending, longest-reigning Universal Champion of All Time Roman Reigns. Brock does his own introduction, saying he is a**kicker, who will kick Roman Reigns’ a**. The bell rings. Brock removes his gloves.
Brock starts with clubbing blows. Roman fires back with blows of his own. Lesnar drives him to the corner before a spinebuster. Roman hits a belly-to-belly suplex. Two more suplexes follow before Roman is clotheslined to the floor. Brock gets to the floor. Heyman distracts and suckers Brock into a spear from Roman, taking Brock through the barricade. Roman gets back to the ring. The referee starts to count down. Lesnar is in the ring at 8. Roman hits a spear but Lesnar kicks out.
Roman hits a Superman punch. Roman roars before hitting another one. Brock is up and smilling. He ducks another Superman punch and hits a German suplex. Brock hits another suplex now. He nails a third and a fourth German suplex. Brock hits the fifth one. Roman counters the F5 and sends Lesnar to the corner and nails a Superman punch again. Roman roars for spear but Lesnar hits F5. Roman kicks out of it.
Lesnar goes for another F5, but Roman rakes his eyes and drives him into the corner. The referee was behind Lesnar and gets slammed to the corner. Roman hits a low blow and runs down Brock with the Universal title. Roman wakes up the referee and covers, but Lesnar kicks out of the pin. Roman hypes up again, says he is the number 1 and no one is gonna follow him. Roman hits a big running tackle from behind for a two-count.
Roman charges for a spear but Lesnar counters to put on the Kimura lock. Brock puts pressure on the arm with Kimura lock, and wraps his legs around Roman’s waist. Lesnar was turning purple with all the effort. Roman gets to the ropes. Roman is telling Heyman that his shoulder is out. Heyman hypes him up, saying this is all he has worked for. Lesnar picks him up and Roman hits another spear to get the pin and the win.
Winner – Roman Reigns(Unified WWE & Universal World Champion)
The commentators are saying that Roman put his shoulder back before hitting that spear. He is not able to get his shoulders up properly as he celebrates with the title. Roman gets to the ramp with Paul Heyman. Lesnar is recovering in the ring. Roman celebrates on the ramp as the pyro goes off behind him. Roman hands WWE Championship to Heyman and puts the Universal title on his own shoulders as the show goes off the air.
WWE Wrestlemania 38 2022 Night 1 was probably the greatest wrestling show I’ve seen in a long time, but Night 2 was kind of deflating. There wasn’t a single match on Night 2 that surpassed anything on Night 1. Besides the opening match on WWE Wrestlemania 38 Night 1 (get well soon, Boogs) every match was an entertaining banger. Night 2 had a couple cool moments, but the Raw Tag Team triple threat match was the only match that really wowed me. Maybe they could’ve balanced the two shows better to make them feel a little bit more on the same level. Does anybody share these opinions?
The main event of night 2 was the worst match of the whole event. Off the top of my head, they did 7 different moves combined the entire match. It was boring as all get out. I said to my wife, “If this is all they’re going to do, I hope they end it soon. I have a book to get back to and it’s way better than this dumpster fire.”
