WWE SmackDown Results February 2, 2024- Cody, Roman, Logan & Bayley
WWE SmackDown episode of February 2, 2024, has advertised segments featuring Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Cody Rhodes also announced that he would appear on the show. Did he come face-to-face with Roman Reigns?
Bayley was set to announce her WrestleMania 40 opponent after her announcement was cut short on RAW earlier this week. United States Champion Logan Paul was also set to appear on the show after his match against Kevin Owens at Royal Rumble. Tune in below for the complete results and updates from the show.
Results & Updates
We saw Roman Reigns entering the arena with the rest of the Bloodline and getting to his locker room.
We saw a recap of Royal Rumble before the footage of Cody Rhodes coming to the arena. Bayley was also seen checking out the arena with the other members of Damage CTRL.
Logan Paul came out to the ring for a promo. He praised Kevin Owens and said KO was able to hurt him more than Floyd Mayweather. He mocked other wrestlers for getting hurt easily and called himself indestructible. Kevin Owens came out and said beating up Logan was better than even becoming US Champion, and now he was ready to take the title from him. Paul replied that KO had already used his one and only title shot and won’t get a rematch. He also claimed that knuckles were a bait for KO to use and he took it.
Kevin Owens defeated Austin Theory in a singles match. After a back-and-forth match, Theory came close to beat KO with a blue thunderbomb, but KO kicked out. Grayson Waller slipped in brass knuckles, but KO took them. Logan Paul came to the apron in protest, which got the referee distracted. Owens hit Waller and Theory with it before hiding them and got the pinfall.
Backstage, Naomi came out of SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis’ office and said she has signed with SmackDown. Bianca Belair, Shotzi and Mia Yim are there to scream with her. Tiffany Stratton came out after Naomi and said she is the Center of the Universe. She slapped Mia Yim. Nick Aldis stopped others from attacking Stratton. Mia wanted a match against Stratton.
After the break, Bianca Belair was in Nick Aldis’ office and asked how she can get a shot at WWE Women’s title. Logan Paul interrupted them and asked Aldis to book him against anyone but Kevin Owens as he did not want part time tag anymore.
We saw a backstage segment from earlier tonight where Santos Escobar welcomed Elektra Lopez back into Legado Del Fantasma.
British Strong Style(Pete Dunne & Tyler Bate) defeated Pretty Deadly(Elton Prince & Kit Wilson), LWO(Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro) & Humberto & Angel in a fatal 4-way match. Wilde repeated his long springboard dive that he did at NXT last month. LWO and Legado Del Fantasma continued their rivalry in the match with LWO duo taking out Humberto and Angel with suicide dives in the last minute. Pretty Deadly tried to use switch and bait technique but failed to get the pin on Dunne. Bate and Dunne hit a double team finisher on Prince to get the pinfall. They got into the #1 contender match for a shot at Undisputed Tag Team titles with this win at Elimination Chamber 2024.
Backstage, WWE Women’s Champion Iyo Sky and Women’s Tag Team Champions Kairi Sane & Asuka were talking in Japanese and laughing. Iyo finally said that Bayley would be done tonight. Bayley was hearing this from behind the door.
Bayley came out to the ring with Iyo Sky, Kairi Sane, Asuka and Dakota Kai. Dakota was on the floor during the segment while the other stood behind Bayley while she cut her promo. Bayley talked about all her title wins, before pivoting to say that she still did not get much respect. She turned to Skye, Sane and Asuka and started speaking in Japanese a bit to put them in shock. Bayley said she knew how they used to make fun of her. Bayley asked Sky what has happened to her since Asuka and Sane joined them. Bayley kept screaming at Sky until Asuka and Sane attacked her from behind. Bayley picked up a pipe from the corner and started to fight back to clear the ring.
Final Testament(Karrion Kross, Akam & Rezar) came out. Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits came out to the ring and the two sides started brawling. The Profits took AOP to the floor. Lashley hit Kross with a spinebuster before putting Kross in the Hurt Lock, but Scarlett jumped on her back. B-Fab came out to attack Scarlett. Lashley hit Kross with a spear. Lashley and The Street Profits stood tall in the ring.
Nick Aldis handed Bron Breakker his SmackDown contract when Adam Pearce came in. Breakker said he wanted to hold onto the contract and would see Pearce on Monday. Jade Cargill came in for a discussion with Aldis. Aldis told Pearce to leave the room.
Tiffany Stratton defeated Mia Yim in a singles match. This was Stratton’s SmackDown debut and she had a good showing. Mia fought back after the break and almost got the pin, but Stratton put her leg on the ropes for the break. Stratton hit an Alabama slam and Prettiest Moonsault Ever to get the pinfall.
Roman Reigns made his entrance with the Bloodline. Roman wanted to address some of the comments made on RAW where Rollins called his World Heavyweight Championship “the title”. Roman refuted saying that he beat everyone is competing for that title and called it the #2 title. Roman mocked Rollins for breaking his back defending his title and even walked funny to mock him. Roman simply said he would not beg Cody Rhodes to choose him, but it’s Cody’s choice if he wanted to be the best #2 or would want to get head to head with him again.
Cody Rhodes made his entrance as we cut to another break. After the break, Cody asked Roman for this to be between them only. Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso cleared the ring. Cody said he talked to friends and family and many legends over the week to discuss. He disagreed with Rollins when he called Universal Championship “the Hollywood title” because it is the same title that was taken away from his father at Madison Square Garden. He asked Roman what finishing the story meant for him – taking the title away from him or take everything away from him.
Cody revealed that one of the legends he talked with had known Roman inside out. The Rock’s music hit and he came out. Rocka and Cody came eye-to-eye before they hugged. Cody left the ring after this and went to the back. The Rock and Roman Reigns had a staredown for a while before the show went off the air.
