WWE RAW Live Results- 5 July 2021: MITB Goes to MizTV, Charlotte Medical Update

Welcome to the live blog for WWE RAW episode of 5 July 2021. This will be the second last RAW episode in WWE Thunderdome and the last one airing live(next RAW will be pre-taped on Tuesday). Two matches and two interesting segments are announced for the show.

Hurt Business will go against New Day while John Morrison and Ricochet will face off in a rematch from last week. Charlotte Flair will provide a medical update on her knee injury while MizTV will feature all four superstars in the Money in the Bank ladder match. More storylines are expected to progress as WWE continues to build towards Money in the Bank 2021 PPV and the return of the crowd. You can read more on this in detail in our preview of this episode.

MITB Edition on The MizTV

The Miz is in the ring with John Morrison for the MizTV segment. Miz welcomes us to the segment and introduces John Morrison. Morrison hypes his chances at MITB. Miz announces Drew McIntyre and he comes out with a mic. Drew talks about how Miz cashed in his MITB briefcase on him and how he has failed to win the title back. Drew warns Miz to stay away from the match next weekend. Ricochet comes out next. Miz brings up the finish of last week’s match between Morrison and Ricochet. Ricochet says he will do a lot more to win the MITB briefcase.

John was replying to him when Riddle’s music hits. We see the replay from last week’s last chance MITB qualifier. Riddle enters the ring, climbs the ladder and brings down the MITB briefcase. Riddle says he let Orton down last week, and he will dedicate his performance at MITB to Orton. Drew says Riddle is a good friend. Miz warns him not to enable his behaviour and wishes Jinder Mahal kicks Drew’s head later in their match. AJ Styles’s music hits and he comes out with Omos.

AJ talks about Orton missing the qualifier and Riddle getting pinned to cost him the chance to qualify. Riddle asks Omos to high five him. Omos flips the ladder and Riddle lands on his injured foot. Omos throws the ladder out of the ring. Morrison attacks Ricochet from behind. McIntyre sends AJ out of the ring. Ricochet throws Morrison out to the floor. Omos tries to attack McIntyre and McIntyre clotheslines him out to the floor. Ricochet hits a springboard move to keep Morrison out of the ring. We cut to the break with Ricochet and McIntyre standing tall in the ring.

Ricochet vs John Morrison

Ricochet starts with a big uppercut and whips Morrison to the corner. Ricochet puts on a front face lock before unloading some more. A clothesline by Ricochet in the corner before he hits a body slam for a two-count. Ricochet puts on a stretch before Morrison turns it around. Morrison beats him around for a while. Morrison continues to be in control for a while as he keeps Ricochet grounded. Ricochet fights back to his feet and they end up on the floor. Morrison manages to powerbomb Ricochet into the barricade. We cut to a break.

Morrison is in control as we return. Ricochet fights back with some punches and a flying forearm. Morrison hits a standing Spanish fly to get a two-count. Morrison puts on a shoulder stretch and works on Ricochet’s ribs. Ricochet escapes from the lock but Morrison puts him in the corner. Ricochet hits a step up enziguiri and then a satelitte DDT. Ricochet hits a discus clothesline to get a two-count. Morrison gets a two-count with a jackknife attempt.

Morrison kicks at Ricochet’s back. He misses an elbow drop on the apron. Ricochet hits a crossbody to take Morrison to the floor. Both men sell the move for a bit. Morrison makes his way to the ring. Miz comes in front of Ricochet to stop him from getting back to the ring. The referee counts out Ricochet from the match.

Winner – John Morrison(via count-out)

We see Jinder Mahal entering the arena on his bike. Veer and Shanky walk up to him. Kevin Patrick comes and asks him about his match against Drew McIntyre. Jinder recalls his history with Drew as a tag team and then says Drew said he was too busy to catch up with him. That why he demanded a match against Drew to put him in his place.

Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax are backstage with Reginald. Reginald sees Alexa in the background but she disappears when Shayna and Nia turn back. Shayna ridicules Reginald for a while on believing in Bliss’ supernatural powers. An eight-woman tag team match is announced.
