Cathy Kelley, Sam Roberts and Pat McAfee hosting tonight’s NXT episode from the WWE TV studios. They say part of the show will be held at the NXT Arena and the rest will be being held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Open Challenge for the NXT North American Title- Roderick Strong(c) vs Austin Theory. They start with counters and back-forth moves to start. A few minutes later, Theory clotheslines Strong out to the floor. Strong sent him into the barricade to start a period of domination.
Theory comes back in the match with a few clotheslines and other moves. Later, he also hits a sitdown powerbomb from a Torture Rack for a near fall. Strong also hit a backbreaker from the top for a nearfall. Strong finished the match with End of Heartache and the stronghold submission.
Isaiah “Swerve” Scott defeated Jack Gallagher. Tom Phillips and Beth Phoenix are announcing this match from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Another back and forth match, more on the technical side. The finish came with the House Call kick from Scott the pin.
Candice LeRae defeated Taynara Conti. LeRae catches Conti’s kick to start the match. Taynara dominated the match at the start anyway. LeRae made a comeback in the middle of the match and goes on to win it with a moonsault off the top.
Next week, NXT Year-End awards will be announced. We also get a debut teaser vignette for Arturo Ruas. He is a said to be master of several styles of fighting.
Dominik Dijakovic defeated Bronson Reed. Both big men worked well together. Near the end, both were at the top, fighting itout. Dijakovic was finally able to hit the Choke Bomb from the top to get the pin and the win.
Bianca Belair defeated Shotzi Blackheart. This was the NXT debut for Shotzi Blackheart and she had a good showing for it. Belair got the win after a KOD from torture rack position.
Keith Lee and Lio Rush defeated Damian Priest and Tony Nese. Damian Priest was taken out with a powerbomb on the apron by Lee. Rush stood on Lee’s shoulders and hit a Final Hour onto Nese for the pin and the win.
