Welcome to the live result blog for WWE NXT episode of January 24, 2023, which featured a women’s tag team title match as the build-up to Vengeance Day 2023 continued.

Roxanne Perez held a Women’s Championship summit with Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne two weeks before Vengeance Day. Alba Fyre got an expected tag team partner as she challenged NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Katana Chance and Kayden Carter. Thea Hail was felicitated by Chase University after her first win in NXT.

Indi Hartwell faced Tiffany Stratton in a singles match. The Creed Brothers were in tag team action. NXT Champion Bron Breakker got involved in a brawl after provocation from Grayson Waller.

The show opens with Grayson Waller’s video footage where he recorded how he interrupted Bron Breakker at WWE Performance Center.

Indi Hartwell vs Tiffany Stratton

Indi decks Tiffany at the apron during her entrance. Indi drivers her into the apron before taking her back to the ring. The bell rings and Indi puts Tiffany into the corner for shoulder blocks. Indi throws her around a bit. Tiffany asks for a handshake but Indi pulls her to slam her to the mat. Tiffany counters in the corner and attacks in the corner. Indi throws her to the floor. Tiffany drops her hand on the ropes and then hits a springboard senton.

Tiffany takes control of the match and keeps Indi under an arm and shoulder lock. Indi gets back to her feet but Tiffany tackles her back to the mat to put on another arm and shoulder lock. Indi tries to break free with a shot at midsection but Tiffany puts on more pressure on the lock. Indi throws her over to break free.

Indi hits a couple of clotheslines before a spinebuster. Indi hits a European uppercut and a big boot to the face after dumping her to the ropes. She hits another big boot to drop Tiffany who starts to complain of a knee injury. A medical personnel runs out but Tiffany nails Indi with an elbow before he can come in. Indi hits a driver into the mat before hitting a moonsault to get the pinfall.

Winner – Tiffany Stratton

Jacy Jayne is interviewed backstage and says Gigi Dolin is no longer her partner. She claims that it was she who carried their team and led them to hold onto Women’s Tag Team titles for more than a year.


We see Ivy Nile brings in Drew Gulak to help The Creed Brothers to prepare for their showdown with Indus Sher. Gulak has brought in a couple of trainees and gets pissed off at them for not performing better. Hank Walker says he would try to take on the Creed Brothers. Gulak takes on Julius Creed himself who is able to out-grapple him. Gulak gets mad and challenges him for a match.

Thea Hail Felicitation Ceremony

Andre Chase is in the ring with Thea Hail and Duke Hudson. He talks about Thea Hail being a top student in academics but not having the same success in the ring. But all of that changed last week as Thea got her first win. He was about to let out an explicit slur but Hudson and Thea stop. Chase hands Thea her award for her first win. Thea thanks everyone to support her.

JD McDonagh interrupts them and asks if this is how far we have slipped now that we are giving participation trophies and awards for first wins. JD tells Thea that he can understand every win matters when she hands around losers in Chase U.

Andre Chase retorts at JD to not put Chase U’s name to the mud. They argue for a while before JD challenges Chase for a match but says he is dressed like a moron. Chase says he teaches his students to always be ready. He ribs off his robe and then nails a big punch to JD. He follows up with more punches to send JD to the floor.

Andre Chase vs JD McDonagh

The match is already started as we return. JD is in control and puts on a chin lock on the mat. Chase gets to his feet and turns around the chin lock. He hits a belly-to-back suplex. Chase hits a couple of punches before some quick jabs. He hits an inverted atomic drop and a Russian Leg Sweep. Chase hits the Chase-U stomps before hitting Side Effect to get a two-count.

JD comes back with a pin-attempt. Chase gets a two-count with a backslide. JD hangs onto the ropes to avoids a German suplex and nails Chase with a clothesline. Chase gets another two-count. He hits a big knee to the face before JD hits back with a headbutt. Chase hits Canadian Destroyer but JD breaks the pin by getting his legs to the ropes.

Chase goes to the top but JD disturbs the ropes to drop Chase. Duke Hudson goes backstage in frustration. JD hits Devil Inside finisher to get the pinfall.

Winner – JD McDonagh

Kiana James is giving her assistant some final instructions before turning to Fallon Henly to discuss their match. James says she should start the match bu Henley is not so sure.

Kiana James & Fallon Henley vs Diamond Mine(Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley)

James insists on starting the match but Henley tags in before action could start. Nile takes Henley to the mat and brings in Paxley for a double team move. Paxley hits a springboard dropkick. Henley tags in James for a double-team move. James hits a big shoulder tackles in the corner. Paxley hits a back body drop and tags in Nile. Henley also tags in. Nile takes down Henley a few times. She was getting ready for an inverted DDT when James slams her to the mat from the apron. James trips Nile once again when the referee was busy dealing with Paxley. Henley hits shining wizard on Nile to get the pinfall.

Winners – Kiana James & Fallon Henley

NXT Tag Team Champions New Day were backstage when Schism comes in, before Edris Enofe and Malik Blade also entering the locker room. New Day announce an invitational match between Blade & Enofe and The Dyad. The winner will be added to the tag title match at Vengeance Day.


Apollo Crews is in the Barbershop where Carmelo Hayes usually go. Hayes also comes into the shop with Trick Williams and is mad at Apollo for being in his seat. They sit down and start to argue. Hayes says Apollo is mad since he sees a younger and better version of himself in Hayes and NXT Championship will look good around his waist. Apollo says it will actually look good on his waist. Apollo challenges Hayes for a 2-out-of-3 falls match at Vengeance Day.

The Creed Brothers(Julius Creed & Brutus Creed) vs Hank Walker & Drew Gulak

Gulak and Julius start. Julius starts with a couple of takedowns. Gulak tries to counter but Julius brings him down by his arms. Gulak gets a two-count before getting an armbar on. Walker is tagged in to keep the armbar going. Walker hits a couple of armdrags before Julius takes him to his corner to tag in Brutus.

The Creed Brothers double team on Walker and Julius hits an armdrag now. Walker picks Julius in fireman’s carry. Gulak knocks off Brutus off the apron before Walker dumps Julius to the mat. We cut to a break.

Gulak is in control against Brutus as we return and hits big shots. Brutus hits a German suplex before some punches on the mat. Gulak hits back with a dropkick and a DDT. Tags to Walker and Julius. Walker hits punches before Julius hits a spinning heel kick. Julius runs over Walker with elbow strikes. He decks Gulak before dropping Walker again.

Julius hits a standing shooting star press and Brutus hits a standing moonsault after a tag. Walker kicks out of the pin. Gulak tags in and Brutus gets him in a double underhook. Julius comes in and helps Brutus in slamming Gulak to the mat. Walker breaks the pin. Walker gets Julius in the fireman’s carry. Brutus and Gulak fight to the mat.

Walker drops Julius with a wheelbarrow slam. Walker goes for an armbar but Julius fights out of it. Brutus gets the tag and both Walker and Brutus drops each other with a clothesline. Gulak gets distracted by Charlie Dempsey. Walker starts to fight The Creed Brothers alone. Julius hits a Death Valley Driver on Walker before Brutus hits Brutus Fall. Julius blocks Gulak as Brutus gets the pin on Walker.

Winners – The Creed Brothers

After the match, The Creed Brothers thank Ivy Nile for sticking with them when they were cranky in the past couple of months. They say they are back to being the Creed Brothers of old who were the tag team champions. Jinder Mahal and Indus Sher interrupt them. Mahal says his brothers want respect and they will get it with Maharaja by their side. He challenges The Creed Brothers for a match next week. Ivy Nile says they are on.


Gigi Dolin is interviewed backstage is asked about Jayne’s comments from earlier in the night. Dolin says Jayne is not a bad person and gives thorns with roses analogy to describe their partnership for so long.

Elektra Lopez vs Wendy Choo

We see how Elektra Lopez went to Valentina Feroz and asked her to come out and watch how to win matches. Lopez drops Choo on her face. She hits a suplex next to send Choo to the floor. Lopez keeps control for a while as Valentina Feroz comes out to watch the match. Choo comes back with a dropkick and suplex.

Choo hits a big boot in the corner before Lopez hits a modified suplex. Lopez remains in control and hits an elbow drop. Lopez puts pressure on Choo’s ribs by wrapping her legs around the waist. Choo breaks free after a while and hits a series of jabs. She hits a crossbody from the second rope to get a two-count. Lopez brings out knuckles from her trunks and nails Choo with them.

Winner – Elektra Lopez

Feroz is not happy with Lopez’s tactics to get the win while Lopez eyes at her from the ring.


Backstage, Brooks Jensen tells Fallon Henley that he has asked Shawn Michaels to give Henley and Kiana James a shot at Women’s Tag Team Championship at Vengeance Day. Henley is not happy and says she wanted it just to be a one-time thing.


Valentina Feroz is backstage with Elektra Lopez and says she could not employ the same tactics to win against her friend. Lopez says Feroz can keep her friends while she can keep winning.


McKenzie Mitchell is backstage and says Steve Turner is a no-show for her interview. Turner appears on the screen from her streaming room. Turner answers a question from Super Chat and says she will make her NXT debut next week.


Grayson Waller comes out to the ring and shows off his NXT Championship belt. This prompts Bron Breakker to come. Waller continues to run his mouth while Breakker makes his way out. Several crew and locker room members also come out to stop Breakker but a brawl starts anyway. Breakker and Waller are kept apart but Breakker breaks free on the floor and goes for a spear. Waller steps aside and Breakker breaks through a barricade.

Katana Chance & Kayden Carter(c) vs Alba Fyre & Sol Ruca – NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship

Alba Fyre was staring along but Sol Ruca comes out to partner her. Fyre starts against Carter and drops her with a clothesline after the initial back and forth. Carter drops Fyre after some animosity between Ruca and Fyre. Carter and Chance double team on Fyre. Fyre drops Carter with a leg sweep. She finally tags in Ruca who uses her athleticism to avoid attack from Chance. Ruca hits a stunner before throwing Carter to the floor. Fyre tags in and throws Carter into the steel steps to take us to a break.

Carter fights back against Ruca before dropping Fyre also. Carter hits a running knee on Fyre before Chance hits a leg drop on her on the ropes. Chance and Carter hits double team wheelbarrow splash on Fyre. Fyre hits a thrust kick on Carter before kicking chance off the apron. She hits a gutbuster before tagging in Ruca.

Ruca hits a springboard splash on Carter, and Chance breaks the pin. Fyre takes Chance to the floor where Chance sends Fyre into the steel steps with a hurricanrana. Carter sends Ruca into the corner and Chance hits her with a 450-splash to get the pinfall.

Winners – Katana Chance & Kayden Carter

Alba Fyre is not in a good mood as he walks past Sol Ruca. Isla Dawn meets Fyre on the stage but they do not clash heads. Fallon Henley and Kiana James appear on the skybox. Henley says she thought about it and they will challenge Carter & Chance at Vengeance Day.


Cora Jade gets an interview backstage where she talks about Lyra Valkyria being after her. The interview was cut mid-way as McKenzie gets a call to cut away to the parking lot.

Nikkita Lyons got hurt but we do not get to know what really happened with her. Indi Hartwell and Lyra Valkyria run in to check on her as we cut to a break.


Andre Chase is backstage with Thea Hail when Duke Hudson comes in. Chase asks him why he walked on him during the match. Hudson says while he walked out, he still believes in Chase. Hudson explains that he actually went to Shawn Michaels’ office to get a place in New Day’s tag team invitational next week. Hudson builds some slow burn suspense and says Michaels sent him to New Day who said they are in.

NXT Women’s Championship Summit

We cut to the ring where Booker T is in the ring for NXT Women’s Championship Summit. Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne are already sitting at the table. Booker T brings out Roxanne Perez. Booker T asks the first question for Gigi who takes a shot at Jacy. Jacy says she carried Gigi for the last year and a half.

Gigi and Lacy continue to trade verbal shots at each other, using as much of a filthy language that is allowed under PG. Roxanne and Booker T are just laughing listening to all this. Roxanne finally interrupts them and says she thought she would be handicapped in the match at Vengeance Day, but it will be a real triple threat match.

Gigi interrupts her and says Roxanne will become the shortest-reigning NXT Women’s Champion at Vengeance. Gigi and Jacy continue to bicker at each other, before turning to Roxanne and attacking her. Booker T leaves the ring before Gigi and Jacy put Roxanne through the table. The Toxic Attraction duo stand tall to close the show.
