North American Title Triple Threat Announced for Takeover: Toronto
WWE has officially confirmed that Velveteen Dream will defend his NXT North American Championship at NXT Takeover: Toronto 2019 in a triple threat match against Roderick Strong and Pete Dunne.
Roderick Strong had his eyes on the North American championship for some time now. Strong was able to score a pin over Velveteen Dream a few weeks ago in a six-man tag team match and was in line to receive the title shot next.
This week at NXT, Dream and Strong were in-between a promo battle when Pete Dunne made his return to NXT. However, former WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne parried an attacked from Strong and proceed to have a long look at the North American Title to made his intentions clear to compete for the title.
WWE later confirmed that the match at Takeover: Toronto will indeed involve all three of them. With this announcement, all four of the Undisputed Era members are set to compete for a title at Takeover: Toronto. Adam Cole will defend his NXT Championship against Johnny Gargano in a Three Stages of Hell match. And Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly will compete against the Street Profits for the NXT Tag Team Championships.
NXT Takeover: Toronto is set to take place on 10 August, just a day before SummerSlam 2019 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada. For full match card from the show, you can check the link(contains spoilers).
