Veteran Wrestler and commentator Taz will be appearing on the AEW Dynamite episode of 1 January 2020. He will be doing commentary work for AEW on the day alongside Jim Ross and Excalibur.
Earlier, Twitter Handle WrestleVotes reported that AEW is looking for a commissioner figure for AEW Dynamite as a way to control talent. It was also added that Taz may be the person who is appointed by the company for the role. The news was something out of the blue because Taz has mainly been behind the mic since retiring from the in-ring action.
Taz has previously appeared for AEW on the commentary at AEW Dark episode of 16 October as well as for AEW Full Gear pre-show. The rumor was given more weight by the fact that Taz has recently finished up with CBS Sports Radio.
However, that piece of information was crushed by Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW currently has no plans for a TV authority figure.
Regarding Taz being announced appearance on AEW Dynamite Homecoming episode on 1 January, Dave Meltzer informed that Taz will be on commentary duty Excalibur and Jim Ross. Apparently, Tony Schiavone has prior commitments for the Sugar Bowl college football game on the radio that day and Taz will come as a replacement on that particular day.
