Roderick Strong Wins NXT North American Title on USA Premiere
Roderick Strong from the Undisputed ERA has defeated Velveteen Dream to win the NXT North American Title on brand’s USA Network Premiere last night, after which the Undisputed ERA now holds all the NXT men’s titles.
NXT made its TV debut as the first hour of this week’s show aired on USA Network last night in 8-9 PM time slot. The show saw a big fatal 4-way no #1 contender’s match for NXT Women’s Championship and Cameroon Grimes squashing Sean Maluta.
This was the third straight NXT North American title match where Roderick Strong was involved. Earlier, he lost the title match against Velveteen Dream at NXT Takeover: XXV and then was also part of the triple threat match at TakeOver: Toronto last month.
As the impressive match came near its end, the Undisputed ERA members surrounded the ring after Dream ran into the referee. As Dream hit Dream Valley Driver, the referee was a bit to count and Strong kicked out of the pin. Strong thought he had won when he hit the End of Heartache finisher, only for Dream to kick out.
After Dream hit Dream Valley Driver the second time, Bobby Fish distracted the referee and Adam Cole took the opportunity to superkick Dream. Strong finished the work by hitting End of Heartache once again and this time, got the pin successfully.
Now, all 4 members of the Undisputed ERA are holding a title, completing the “prophecy” by Adam Cole that he made a few months back. Cole himself won the NXT Championship at TakeOver: XXV while Bobby Fish and Kyle O’ Reilly won the NXT Tag Team Championship 3 weeks back at NXT episode.
With Strong taking the North American Title last night at NXT, all 3 men’s NXT title now rests with the Undisputed ERA.
