Shawn Spears Explains Attack on Cody at Fyter Fest
Shawn Spears explained about his action at Fyter Fest before he will face Cody Rhodes at AEW All Out 2019 show.
Shawn Spears, Tye Dillinger from WWE, shocked everyone when he attacked Cody Rhodes at Fyter Fest during his match against Darby Allin. Cody suffered an injury to his head due to the chair shot from Spears that struck straight on Cody’s head. A slight controversy erupted on the incident as AEW was criticized to not take care towards the safety of athletes.
Shawn Spears sat down for an interview with Jim Ross for the Road to All Out Youtube series to explain his attack on Cody Rhodes at Fyter Fest. As he has hinted on social media, what drove Spears to attack was Rhodes’ comment after the announcement that Spears had signed a full-time AEW contract, calling him a “good hand.”
Shawn Spear then confirmed that he will indeed face Cody Rhodes at All Out. The match was earlier announced by AEW President Tony Khan. But before he was finished with the interview, WWE Hall of Famer Tully Blanchard interrupted and told him something. Apparently, Blanchard is now working as an advisor for Spears. This will act as a callback to the animosity between Blanchard and Cody’s father Dusty Rhodes.
