Royal Rumble 2019 Predictions

Speculating on rumors and predicting the storylines is the best time pass for Wrestling fans other than actually watching the superstars tearing into each other. So, we are also throwing in our predictions out there for you to enjoy until Royal Rumble streams. Let’s Go!!

United States Championship – Rusev (c) vs Shinsuke Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura was defeated by Rusev on Christmas episode of SmackDown and he has entered into his third reign as the United States Championship. On Sunday, it’s definitely going to be Rusev Day again, otherwise, him winning the title one month ago would be worthless. And it’s really sorry that Nakamura would go from winning the Rumble last year to lose a match in the Kick-off show this year, but that’s what gonna happen.

Cruiserweight Championship – Buddy Murphy (c) vs Kalisto vs Hideo Itami vs Akira Tozawa

This is a tricky one. Definitely, Murphy is going to lose as he is to be promoted to SmackDown Roaster; also he won’t be pinned or forced to submit; but who will win? The way Hideo Itami has won his matches in the last 2 weeks, we are predicting it’s going to be him. Other two challengers have already been champions earlier and WWE might give Itami the chance to show if his reign can be exciting.

WWE Championship – Daniel Bryan (c) vs AJ Styles

This is the most difficult match to predict among all. Yes, even more difficult to predict than the Royal Rumble matches. Because on one hand, there are no other superstars to book for this title at Wrestle Mania than these two. And on the other hand, this storyline is getting lengthy. Fancy Daniel Bryan retaining here.

SmackDown Tag Team Championship – The Bar (c) vs The Miz and Shane McMahon

Miz and Shane are being built up as the underdogs, we are predicting to win this match. The Bar are the champions for far too long for Tag Teams and a change is needed.

SmackDown Women’s Championship – Asuka (c) vs Becky Lynch

With all the built-up around Becky to be the next big thing at WWE, they are not going to give her the title just yet. WWE would want to stretch this period with Becky for as long as possible. And with the possibility of Becky actually facing Ronda at Wrestle Mania, she is not winning this one. Asuka to retain the title.

Men’s Royal Rumble

There are a different set of predictions to make for this match.
Winner- Nakamura won the Rumble last year and from there everything went downhill for him. WWE won’t be making the similar mistake of spurning such a big surprise. Seth Rollins is the obvious winner this year.
Iron Man of the Rumble – Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton
Surprise Entry – Bray Wyatt

Women’s Royal Rumble

Winner- Charlotte Flair or Becky Lynch to win and face Ronda at the Wrestle Mania.
Iron Woman of the Match- Natalya
Surprise Entry- (Not so surprising) Becky Lynch, since she is not announced yet.

Universal Championship – Brock Lesner (c) vs Finn Balor

Only 6 times out of 39, a heavyweight title has changed hand in the history of Royal Rumble. And this might be the seventh. Predicting Balor to win with the help from Braun Strowman’s interference which will setup Lesner and Strowman for Wrestle Mania. WWE will want the champion to appear on RAW every week to help them built it up for Wrestle Mania, which is not possible with Lesner’s situation. Balor against any of Seth Rollins or Drew McIntyre will be an exciting prospect for Wrestle Mania. Strowman is currently not fit for Champion and hence will get involved with Lesner.

RAW Women’s Championship Match – Ronda Rousey (c) vs Sasha Banks

We are starting with the obvious one. It is a straight forward pick for Ronda to win this one. She will definitely go to Wrestle Mania 35 as the champion with Becky Lynch or Charlotte Flair or both as the challengers. For Sasha, tag team championship is the way forward. But rest assured that this match is going to be one of the best of the night.
