WWE will kick start their PPV calendar for the year 2021 with Royal Rumble PPV. This will be the 34rd event in the Royal Rumble series which features a special over the top rope Battle Royal with participants entering after every 2 minutes. The winner of the annual Royal Rumble match gets to challenge the World Champion of his/her choice.
Since 2018, WWE started to hold both Men and Women Royal Rumble matches and the same is expected for this year also. The event has suffered due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The location is not announced for the show due to the same reason and the event is likely to take place either with limited audience or fans will join via virtual mediums.

Drew McIntyre(c) vs Goldberg – WWE Championship
Goldberg appeared on RAW Legends night and told Drew McIntyre that he lacked respect for WWE Legends and that challenged him for the WWE Championship match at Royal Rumble. McIntyre replied that facing Goldberg in the ring would be like wrestling his own dad. Goldberg shoved McIntyre to the ground. Next week, McIntyre appeared on RAW in a pre-recorded video to accept Goldberg’s challenge.
Roman Reigns(c) vs Kevin Owens – Last Man Standing Match, Universal Championship
A Gauntlet match was announced for the #1 contender for Roman at Royal Rumble 2021. WWE Official Adam Pearce won the match after Roman & Uso interfered in the match. However, Pearce nominated Kevin Owens in his place citing his knee injury & a clause in WWE rules which allows him for a replacement.
Sasha Banks(c) vs Carmella- SmackDown Women’s Championship
Carmella challenged Sasha Banks at TLC 2020 where Sasha emerged victorious despite Carmella’s Sommelier Reginald creating interference. A few later, Carmella pinned Sasha in a tag team match. Sasha granted Carmella another title shot only if Reginald would face him in a match, where Sasha defeated Reginald at SmackDown’s 22 January episode.
Asuka & Charlotte Flair(c) vs Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax – Women’s Tag Team Championship
Charlotte Flair returned at TLC 2020 PPV to partner Asuka and they won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship from Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. A rematch was announced between them for Royal Rumble 2021.
Men Royal Rumble Match
