Rhea Ripley To Lead NXT Women’s Team at Survivor Series?
While NXT has not announced the NXT Women’s team for Survivor Series, Rhea Ripley announced last night at SmackDown that she is the captain of the NXT team for Survivor Series.
Former UK Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley led the women of NXT to the Allstate Arena in Chicago to interrupt Team SmackDown and RAW last night on Friday Night Smackdown. With Raw captain Charlotte Flair and Smackdown captain Sasha Banks looking for the captains’ match, Ripley announced herself as the official captain of Team NXT for Survivor Series 2019.
Rhea Ripley then battled with Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks in the captains’ match and was able to get the win with an incredible spot. Charlotte Flair has Sasha Banks in the Figure Four leg lock when Ripley slide under her and put Charlotte in the crucifix pin to get the win.
Survivor Series 2019 will feature the three-way contests between RAW, SmackDown and NXT. The event will see the men and women’s tag team elimination matches, champions’ matches between tag teams, women’s champions and secondary champions from all three brands.
Charlotte Flair will be joined by Asuka, Kairi Sane, Natalya and Sarah Logan for the RAW team in the 15 women tag team elimination match. For SmackDown, Sasha Banks will lead the team with Lacey Evans, Nikki Cross, Dana Brooke, and Carmella.
For what it’s worth, Rhea Ripley was joined by fellow NXT stars Mia Yim, Tegan Nox, Candice LeRae and Toni Storm for the SmackDown invasion. However, WWE is yet to officially announce that it going to be the NXT team.
Toni Storm, in particular, was a surprise addition here as the former WWE UK Women’s Champion has not been seen in the NXT fold in the United States in some time now.
