NJPW New Beginning in Sapporo: EVIL vs Umino & SHO vs El Desperado Set
NJPW has announced two more matches to night 1 of New Beginning In Sapporo 2024 event, including NEVER Openweight title match and El Desperado vs SHO clash.
EVIL is set to defend his NEVER Openweight title against Shota Umino at NJPW New Beginning In Sapporo 2024 event. He secured the title previously at NJPW The New Beginning In Nagoya 2024 by triumphing over Tama Tonga in a lumberjack match. Concurrently, Shota Umino emerged victorious against Ren Narita in a one-on-one match during the same event.

NJPW has also announced a non-title clash between SHO and IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion El Desperado. Following SHO’s theft of Desperado’s mask on January 23, the champion seeks to reclaim it in this upcoming showdown.
NJPW New Beginning in Sapporo event is scheduled for February 23 and February 24, and will be broadcast live from the Hokkaido Prefectural Sports Center Hokkai Kitayell. IWGP World Heavyweight Title match is set to be the main event for night 2 between where Tetsuya Naito will face SANADA.
