At the end of the match, Samoa Joe tried to hit Urinagi from the top but both Joe and Ricochet landed fell on the mat simultaneously, with each other’s hands in the pinning position. The referee counted to three and the match ended in a double pin.

Later, the referee John Cone informed that WWE management has decided for both Joe and Ricochet to advance to the semifinal, which would make it a Triple Threat match. The winner of that Triple Threat will face a SmackDown Superstar in the KOTR finals at WWE Clash of Champions on September 15. Next week’s RAW will air from Maddison Square Garden, New York.

SmackDown will also hold the quarterfinals of the King of the Ring semifinal this week with matches between Ali vs Elias and Chad Gable vs Andrade. The winners will advance to the semi-finals next Tuesday which will once again take place at Maddison Square Garden, New York.
