Kofi Kingston Confirmed for Men Royal Rumble 2023 Match

Kofi Kingston has become the first wrestler to be confirmed for Men’s Royal Rumble match in the 2023 edition of WWE Royal Rumble.

The announcement came during this week’s SmackDown episode from Kofi himself during a backstage interview. Over the year, Kofi has been involved in incredible saves at Royal Rumble using his athleticism, steel steps, barricade, announce table, chairs and even pancakes to save himself from elimination.

Kofi was later interrupted by Imperium and ended up facing Intercontinental Champion Gunther. Gunther took the victory over Kofi in the match introducing his new finisher “The Last Symphony”.

The appearance in Royal Rumble match in 2023 will be Kofi Kingston’s 15th Royal Rumble appearance, which will tie him in second place in the record for most appearances with Dolph Ziggler. Kane currently holds the record for most Royal Rumble appearances with 20 entries.

WWE Royal Rumble 2023 is set to take place on January 28, 2022, at Alamodome in San Antonio, TX, which officially marks the start of WrestleMania season.

The show will feature the men and women Royal Rumble Over the Top Battle Royal featuring 30 participants each. The winners of respective matches will receive a shot at World title at WrestleMania 39 on April 1 and 2.

Royal Rumble 2023 has already become the event with the highest gate in the series after earning over $5 million through ticket sales.
