Report: Kevin Patrick Released by WWE

Kevin Patrick Joines WWE

Reports suggest that Kevin Patrick has left WWE.

Earlier this week, reports indicated that WWE executives chose to remove Kevin Patrick from SmackDown commentary duties, citing that it “just wasn’t working out.” Despite personal likability, an internal consensus suggested that he wasn’t the ideal fit for the role.

Following his removal from the SmackDown commentary team, Kevin Patrick has reportedly been released from WWE, according to a recent update from PWInsider.

There are speculations that Michael Cole is set to replace Kevin Patrick for the January 26 episode of WWE SmackDown. However, it remains uncertain whether Cole will be a permanent replacement or if WWE will eventually assign the role to another broadcaster.

Kevin Patrick became a part of WWE in March 2021, initially taking on roles as a backstage correspondent, commentator, and host for the RAW brand. His journey led to a transfer to SmackDown in 2023, where he teamed up with Corey Graves and Michael Cole as a commentary trio.

However, when Cole’s commentary duties became exclusive to RAW, Graves and Patrick continued as a duo on WWE’s SmackDown brand.
