Jon Moxley vs Brodie Lee Announced for AEW Double Or Nothing

Jon Moxley has accepted the challenge from Brodie Lee for a match at AEW Double or Nothing 2020 PPV for his AEW World Championship.

The match was announced last night on AEW Dynamite after Lee’s Dark Order minions swarmed Moxley and SoCal Uncensored following Moxley’s win over Frankie Kazarian. After the minions had Moxley on the match, Lee arrived and told Moxley that he possessed something he wanted, the AEW World title.

The badass that Moxley is, he replied that all Lee had to do was ask. The segment ended with Lee booting Moxley as the minions continued to keep him on the mat. The match was confirmed later by the commentary team.

The booking seems odd due to the reason that AEW is violating its own rankings method to determine the challengers here. Although Lee has been undefeated in AEW so far, his wins have come against the low key competitors and he is only at 3rd place in the latest AEW Rankings for men.

On the other hand, accepting a challenge does go in line with Moxley’s character and the fact that he kept shouting that he is ready for anyone who comes after him. All in all, it looks like this feud is being prepared in a hurry after whatever the AEW’s original plan was, had to be nixed due to some complications.

Jon Moxley, former Dean Ambrose from WWE, became only the second AEW World Champion after he defeated Chris Jericho at AEW Revolution 2020 PPV. Brodie Lee made his AEW Debut in March as the Exalted One- the leader of Dark Order.
