Chad Gable and Elias have won their respective matches in the King of the Ring 2019 Tournament Quarterfinals against Ali and Andrade to advance to Semifinals.
King of the Ring tournament continued to churn out impressive matches with this week’s SmackDown Live. The first bout of the night was between Ali and Elias. Ali showed his prowess with good high flying maneuvers. But in the end, Elias’ work on Ali’s knee during the match helped him out as he dodged a 450 splash and hit the Drift Away to get the pin.
Then, Chad Gable and Andrade gave an even more impressive match. With the crowd behind them for the most part, Chad Gable did not let the distraction from Zelina Vega affect the result. Late in the match, Gable hit a German suplex and held it for the pin but Vega distracted the referee. After eating a spinning back elbow, Gable rolled Andrade for a sitout pin this time to get the win.
Elias and Chad Gable will face off in the semifinal from SmackDown side of the tournament, next week at Madison Square Garden in New York. On RAW, Samoa Joe, Ricochet and Baron Corbin will be in the triple threat match in the semis at the same venue. The winners from each semifinal will battle in the final of the tournament at Clash of Champions 2019 show on 15 September.
