The final match of the AEW TNT Championship Tournament will be Cody vs Lance Archer after both men won their respective semifinals.
Cody was up against Darby Allin on AEW Dynamite this week in the first semifinal and came out on the winning side after a match that lasted around 20 minutes. Allin focused on Cody’s injured knees and even got an assist from Britt Baker(who was in the audience). But Cody continued to stay in the match, even kicking out after Allin used his own Cross Rhodes. The finish came after Allin hit the Coffin drop but Cody rolled him up to get the win.
The second semifinal was between Lance Archer and Cody’s brother Dustin Rhodes where Archer dominated for the most part. At one point in the match, QT Marshal came out to throw in the towel for Dustin but Cody stopped him and let the match continue. Archer finished off the match by slamming an already bleeding head of Dustin into the mat and got the pin.
Earlier, AEW announced its secondary title- AEW TNT Championship, and a tournament to decide the first champion.
