3 Title Matches Scheduled for AEW Dynamite 12 May Episode
AEW has announced a total of 3 title matches as well as a #1 contender’s match for AEW World title at AEW Dynamite episode of 12 May 2021.
Darby Allin vs Miro for TNT Championship: It was announced prior to the show that Miro will make an announcement on Dynamite this week. The announcement turned out to be that he will face AEW TNT Champion Darby Allin next week. Miro gets the title match due to a contract that he signed with the company.
Earlier in the show, Allin and Sting were attacked by Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky. Sky put Sting in a heel hook to take him out. Later, Allin attacked Sky and Page but ended up getting beaten up and was required to be checked by the medics.
Young Bucks vs SCU for Tag Team Titles: SoCal Uncensored became the new #1 contender match for AEW World Tag Team Championship. They won a Fatal 4-Way tag team match against Varsity Blonds, Jurassic Express and The Acclaimed. The title match goes next week on Dynamite.
Jon Moxley Defends IWGP US Title: NJPW’s IWGP United States title will be defended for the first time outside of NJPW as Jon Moxley defends the title against Yuji Nagata.
#1 Contender for AEW World Title: AEW has also revealed who will Kenny Omega defend the title against at AEW Double or Nothing 2021. The #1 ranked wrestler in the latest AEW Rankings– Orange Cassidy – will face #2 ranked PAC in a single match on 12 May episode with the winner going to face Omega at Double or Nothing.
Kenny Omega proposed that he should face PAC right away. However, Tony Schiavone announced the #1 contender match will go on. Orange Cassidy came out after the announcement and Omega cut a promo against him.
Two more segments are announced for next week’s show. Cody Rhodes will announce his match for Double or Nothing. Additionally, Jade Cargill will also join Tony Schiavone for an interview. The complete line-up is as below:
