MITB 2019: Bayley becomes the SmackDown Women’s Champion
In an incredible turn of events, Bayley has cashed in the Money in the Bank Briefcase on Charlotte Flair to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion at Money in the Bank 2019.
Bayley won the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder match to win the MITB briefcase and with it, the contract for a world title match. Becky Lynch entered the show with both RAW and SmackDown Women’s title on her but she was also needed to defend both the titles in different matches against Lacey Evans and Charlotte Flair respectively.
After she successfully defended the RAW Women’s Championship against Lacey Evans, Charlotte Flair immediately came out to take advantage of Becky’s tiredness after the match. But Becky was matching up to her toe to toe.
As Becky avoided a natural selection from Charlotte at the apron, Charlotte ended up at the ringside. With the referee busy with the countdown on Charlotte, Lacey Evans came out and hit the Woman’s Right on Becky. Becky still managed to roll up Charlotte but soon ran into a big boot from Charlotte who got the win.
After the match, Becky started unloading on Lacey Evans but Charlotte and Evans combined to take down Becky. At the time, Bayley came out to make the save. As Evans was send packing and Charlotte was sent through the ring post, Bayley got the perfect opportunity to cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase. She hit the elbow drop off the top to get the win and became the new SmackDown Women’s Champion.
This is the first SmackDown title win for Bayley after her one title reign as the RAW Women’s Champion. Also, Charlotte Flair’s 10th title run tonight was the smallest title reign in the history of WWE Women’s division.
