AEW Full Gear 2024 Match Card, Date, Location, Time
AEW Full Gear 2024 PPV event took place on November 23, 2024 at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. This was the sixth Full Gear series event, but the second one to take place at this venue.
The event started at 8 PM ET, with a one-hour pre-show set to start at 7 PM ET. The main event was the AEW World Championship match between Jon Moxley and Orange Cassidy.

STORYLINES
MJF vs Cole/Strong: MJF and Adam Cole had an extended storyline in 2023 which ended with Cole being revealed as the masked stableleader “The Devil” and turning on MJF. Both Cole and MJF went on hiatus in early 2024 that due to injuries. Cole returned at Double or Nothing 2024 PPV, only for MJF to come out and attack him. Cole once again spent time on the sidelines until the WrestleDream 2024 event where he chased off MJF to save Daniel Garcia. On the October 23, 2024 episode of AEW Dynamite, Cole challenged MJF for a match but Roderick Strong(who was part of Cole stable earlier) cut off his promo. MJF then appeared on the big screen to say he would face one of Cole or Strong whoever managed to win three matches first. Cole defeated Buddy Mathews and Malakai Black on Dynamite episodes in the coming weeks before losing to Konosuke Takeshita on November 13 Dynamite episode. Strong went on to win his matches against Shane Taylor and The Beast Mortos on Collision before beating Lance Archer in a Falls Count Anywhere match on Dynamite November 13 episode. As Strong won three matches, he was announced to face MJF.
AEW World Championship: On October 23, 2024, Blackpool Combat Club attacked Private Party and Daniel Garcia before Jon Moxley brought out Chuck Taylor to the ring. The group broke Chuck’s neck by putting a chair around his neck and stomping on it. The following week, Taylor’s stable mate Orange Cassidy challenged Moxley for the AEW World Championship at Full Gear. Moxley replied later in the show that it was actually him who first challenged Cassidy by attacking Chuck. The match was then made official for Full Gear.
Page vs White: Hangman Adam Page defeated Jay White in the semifinal of the men’s Owen Hart Tournament 2024. White also got injured during the match and spent time on the sidelines. White returned on October 1 Dynamite episode to attack Page, accusing Page of injuring him. This led to a match being fixed between them at WrestleDream 2024 event where White came out on the winning side. Page then cost White a match against Christian Cage on the October 16 Dynamite episode. The following week on Dynamite, Page was able to fend an attack from White’s stablemate Colten Gunn. On October 26 Collision, White issued a challenge to Page for a rematch. Page accepted the challenge on the October 30 Dynamite episode.
AEW TBS Women’s Championship: Kris Statlander defeated AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone’s bodyguard Kamille on the October 30 Dynamite episode. On November 2 Collision episode, she issued a challenge to Mone for a title match. The match was officially announced later in the episode.
AEW Tag Team Championship: AEW announced a “four-way contenders series” in the lead-up to the Full Gear event with three teams qualifying to face AEW Tag Team Champions Private Party at the event. These qualifying matches are as follows:
- The Outrunners(Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum) def. Top Flight(Dante Martin & Darius Martin) – Collision November 9
- Kings of Black Throne(Malakai Black & Brody King) def. FTR(Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) vs. – Dynamite November 12
- The Acclaimed(Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) def. La Faccion Ingobernable(Rush & Dralístico or The Beast Mortos) – Collision November 16
TNT Championship: At WrestleDream, Daniel Garcia returned to confront TNT Champion Jack Perry after he defeated Katsuyori Shibata. However, MJF also came out to confront him. As Garcia turned towards MJF, Perry hit him with the title belt from behind to drop him. He teamed up with Private Party to beat Perry & The Young Bucks on October 23 Dynamite episode. On November 2 Collision episode, Garcia confronted Perry and called him a spoiled brat who got handed everything. On November 9 Collision episode, Perry defended the title against Action Andretti. After the match, Garcia came out to the ring to interrupt Perry’s promo and challenged him for a title match at Full Gear. Perry got annoyed into accepting the challenge.
Lashley vs Strickland: When MVP arrived to AEW, Swerve Strickland declined to join his stable. On October 30 Dynamite episode, Lashley made his AEW debut and attacked Strickland before officially joining the Hurt Syndicate. The following week, Strickland interrupted their promo and challenged Lashley for a singles match at Full Gear. MVP accepted the challenge on Lashley’s behalf.
