Ospreay vs Danielson: Will Ospreay signed with AEW after his NJPW contract was over and made his debut as AEW wrestler at Revolution by beating Konosuke Takeshita. On March 9 Collision episode, Bryan Danielson defeated Shane Taylor. After the match, Ospreay confronted him and challenged him for a match at Dynasty. Danielson accepted the challenge and the match was made official.

AEW Tag Team Championship: Sting and Darby Allin retained AEW Tag Team titles against The Young Bucks in the main event of Revolution PPV. With Sting’s retirement, the titles were vacated and AEW President Tony Khan announced that a tournament would be held to crown the new champions. Later, it was revealed that the final of this tournament would take place at Dynasty. The results from the tournament were as follows:

  • The Young Bucks(Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson) defeated Private Party(“Brother Zay” Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen) – Quarterfinal – Dyamite, March 27, 2024
  • Best Friends(Trent Beretta & Orange Cassidy) defeated The Undisputed Kingdom(Mike Bennett & Matt Taven) – Quarterfinal – Dyamite, March 27, 2024

In the build-up for the final match, The Young Bucks aired the footage of CM Punk and Jack Perry’s altercation at All In 2023 event, which was the last time these two teams clashed in tag team title match and FTR came out victorious. They blamed FTR for planning that incident to throw them off as they had to deal with the issues and handle the press before their match. FTR then cut a promo in response, where they reiterated their commitment to AEW. The match was later turned in a ladder match.

AEW World Championship: Samoa Joe successfully defended AEW World title against Swerve Strickland and “Hangman” Adam Page at Revolution 2024 PPV. Page tapped out to Joe’s Coquina Clutch as he did not want to let Swerve win. After the event, Swerve kept looking for another title shot. He put out an open challenge on March 20 episode which was answered by The Butcher. After Swerve got the win in that match, Samoa Joe came out and said the only way to stop people like Swerve from coming after his title. At that point, Don Callis came out and talked about how his client Konosuke Takeshita had an identical record as Swerve and demanded a title shot for him. A match between Swerve and Takeshita was agreed for Dynamite March 27 episode which was later confirmed for the #1 spot in AEW singles rankings. Swerve beat Takeshita to become the #1 contender. Samoa Joe then announced a contract signing segment between him and Swerve on Dynamite April 3 episode for the title match taking place at Dynasty.

AEW Women’s Championship: Thunder Rosa and Deonna Purrazzo faced AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm & Mariah May on March 27 Dynamite episode in a tag team match. Rosa pinned Storm during this match. On Collision March 30 episode, it was announced that Mariah May and Thunder Rosa will clash in a #1 contender match for Women’s Championship at Dynasty. Rosa won this match to set up the clash.

AEW TBS Women‘s Championship: A fatal 4-way match took place on AEW Dynamite March 27 episode for #1 contender for AEW TBS Women’s Championship against Julia Hart at Dynasty. Willow Nightingale defeated Anna Jay, Kris Statlander and Skye Blue in this match to get a title shot. On April 3 episode, Mercedes Mone announced that the winner of Hart vs Willow match would defend the title against her at Double or Nothing. When Hart tried to help Brody King to attack Copeland on Dynamite April 10 episode, Willow ran out to make the save and set up a mixed tag team match on April 17 Dynamite.

AEW Continental Championship: Kazuchika Okada defeated Eddie Kingston to win AEW Continental title on March 20 Dynamite episode. PAC called him out later to challenge him for the title on Collision April 6 episode. On April 10 episode of Dynamite, Okada accepted the challenge. PAC came out after Okada called him out. The Young Bucks attacked PAC but FTR came out to help him out. Okada hit FTR and PAC with steel chairs.

House of Black vs Copeland, Kingston & Briscoe: After Adam Copeland defended his title against Matt Cardona at Collision March 30 episode, House of Black attacked him. Eddie Kingston and Mark Briscoe ran out to make the save. Later in the show, Copeland challenged House of Black for a trios match at Dynasty which was made official later.

AEW International Championship: Roderick Strong was announced to face Rocky Romero in a International Title eliminator match at Battle of the Belts X event. Kyle O’Reilly, Strong’s friend and former stablemate, wished Romero good luck for the match. After Strong defeated Romero, KOR came out to congratulate Strong before checking on Romero. The Undisputed Kingdom’s Wardlow, Matt Taven & Mike Bennett attacked Romero before Strong hit KOR with a flying knee. Later, AEW announced that Strong would defend his International title against KOR.
