Welcome to the live results coverage blog for AEW Dynamite Winter is Coming special episode on December 13, 2023.

There are 4 matches to take place from the Continental Classic tournament. Jon Moxley vs Swerve Strickland, Jay Lethal vs Rush, and Mark Briscoe vs Jay White are the matches from Gold League while Andrade El Idolo and Brody King will clash from Blue League.

Two more matches are set for the show where Hangman Adam Page and Roderick Strong will clash. Ruby Soho will clash with Riho. The show will also feature segments where we will hear from Samoa Joe, and from The Golden Jets. We will also see The Von Erich Family come to Dynamite to promote Collision. Who Attacked MJF?

Samoa Joe comes out to the ring. He says he was turned into a liar when MJF was attacked last week despite his promise to keep MJF safe until AEW World’s End. Joe says he found a beer bottle of a certain brand that Cowboy likes and smelled a certain fragrance that is familiar to Hangman. Hangman Adam Page comes to the ring in response. Page argues with Joe briefly, claiming he does not need to attack MJF like that.

Roderick Strong comes out with The Kingdom. He tries to reason that MJF is the Devil himself as we have seen every opponent of his getting attacked while we did not see someone hit MJF, but just found him laid out. The argument leads to Page punching Strong to start a brawl. Joe leaves the ring while The Kingdom are also asked to leave.

Hangman Adam Page vs Roderick Strong

Strong attacks Hangman from behind to start the match. Hangman quickly turns it around in the corner and hits several chops. Hangman stomps at Strong before more chops. Strong hits a back elbow. Hangman hits a fallaway slam, kips up, and hits a standing shooting star press to get a two-count. Strong comes back with a backbreaker. Hangman hits a big boot. He follows up with a snap suplex.

Strong drops his knees on Hangman’s chest. Strong hits some chops. Hangman sends him to the apron and hits a springboard clothesline and then hits a crossbody. Mike Bennet distracts the referee and Matt Taven holds Hangman’s leg. Strong hits him with an enzuigiri on the top rope. Strong then drops Page to the floor to take us to a break.

Strong is in control as we return. Page starts to trade punches. Strong ducks a clothesline and Page blocks a backbreaker. They drop each other with clotheslines at the same time. Page stomps on Strong in the corner. Page hits a Death Valley Driver to get a near fall. Page hits some punches on the top rope. Strong ducks to the floor and ducks a moonsault, but Hangman quickly hits a pop-up powerbomb.

Strong grabs the ropes to block Dead Eye and hits a flapjack. He hits some elbows and Tiger Driver to get and two-count, and quickly puts on Boston Crab. Hangman gets to the ropes quickly. Hangman drops Strong’s face on the ropes. He hits a moonsault on Taven when he tries to attack him again. He hits a moonsault to wipe out Bennett and Kingdom. Strong tries to counter but Hangman gets him in a pin attempt. Hangman blocks a backbreaker and hits Dead Eye to get the pinfall.

Andrade El Idolo vs Brody King – Blue League Match for Continental Classic

Brody pushes Andrade to the ropes after the lock up. Andrade puts on a side headlock. He hangs onto the lock despite Brody’s attempt to overpower him. Brody breaks it finally, but Andrade puts on headlock again. Brody hits a backdrop driver but Andrade does not let him go. Brody throws him to the ropes and hits a shoulder tackle and a senton to get a two-count. He hits chops in the corner. Andrade starts to trade chops with him.

Brody breaks the sequence with an elbow strike. Brody puts on a sleeper on the ropes and Andrade quickly drops him on the ropes. Andrade hits a crossbody to get a one-count. Brody slips to the floor. Andrade hits him with a moonsault. Back to the ring, Brody blocks a suplex and puts Andrade on the ropes. Andrade fires shots but Brody chops him to the floor. We cut to a break.

Brody has a choke on as we return. Andrade gets to his feet slowly and they start to trade chops again. Brody whips him to the corner. Andrade cuts off his charge with a dropkick to the leg. Andrade hits a dragon screw leg a couple of times after failing to lift Brody with a body slam. He hits a running crossbody and a body slam. Brody gets up to cut off double knees but Andrade hits another body slam. Andrade hits a split-legged moonsault to get a two-count.

Brody moves out of a double knee. Brody hits a big lariat to get a near fall. Andrade slips out of a rack bomb. More chops from both sides. Andrade hits a big boot. Brody hits a forearm. Andrade hits a spinning back elbow to drop Brody. Andrade gets to the top rope. Brody meets him there and punches Andrade. Andrade hits a DDT on the ring post. Andrade then hits a Hammerlock DDT to get the pinfall.

Renee Paquette is backstage with Kevin Von Erich and his sons. Orange Cassidy, Danhausen and Trent Baretta come in. Cassidy asks Ross Von Erich and Marshall Von Erich, that he has a match on Rampage he needs partners for. He asks if they want in. They agree.

The Golden Jets

Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho are in the ring. They talk about chants before Jericho comes to the point and calls out AEW Tag Team Champions Ricky Starks and Big Bill. They duo come to the stage. Starks thanks Omega for AEW, but Jericho has sucked the life out of it at every moment. Bill says if Jericho attacks Omega at the drop of a dime, nobody would be surprised. Omega says if they are trying to base this on if he trusts Jericho, then he clears up that he does not trust Jericho. Omega goes on to mock Bill over The Firm angle he was part of last year. Omega goes on to bring up the title shot they have, and they will cash in that shot at World’s End. Starks says he has beaten Jericho twice and is already half way to beat this team. Jericho intervenes and says Starks complains about their team not having a name. Jericho gives out some random names to the team before he goes on mock Starks being a poor man’s version of Enzo Emore. Starks gets agitated and asks them to take them on.

Ruby Soho vs Riho

Timeless Toni Storm is on the commentary. They start with some punches. Ruby boots Riho against the ropes. She hits a body slam to get a two-count. Riho sends Ruby to the corner to hit a running knee strike. Ruby blocks the second one but Riho drops her anyway. Ruby looks for an avalanche German suplex but Riho hits back elbows and hits a double stomp in a tree of woe. We cut to a break.

Riho hits tijeras before hitting a tiger feint kick(619) and a crossbody from the top rope to get a close two-count. They trade pin attempts before Ruby hits a kick to the side of the face. Ruby hits a Saito suplex to get another two-count. Riho hits a crucifix bomb after a bit of back and forth to get a two-count. Ruby hits No Future kick to get a near fall. Riho slips out of a move and hits double knees to get the pinfall.

Jay Lethal vs Rush – Gold League Match for Continental Classic

Quick work from both men before Lethal throws Rush away. He does a strut, allowing Rush to recover to hit a German suplex. They get to the floor. Rush hits chops on him. Back to the ring, Rush hits more chops before double knees. He hits a snap powerslam. A bit of back and forth before Lethal hits Lethal combination. Rush ducks Lethal Injection, but Lethal hits a chop to send Rush to the corner. Rush hits a snap powerslam to send Lethal into the corner. Lethal blocks Bull Horns. Rush counters Lethal Injection with a rear naked choke to get a submission.

Mark Briscoe vs Jay White – Gold League Match for Continental Classic

Briscoe starts with a dropkick. White ducks him and rolls up to get a two-count. Briscoe hits a big boot, a rolling senton and Froggy Bow, but White rolls to the floor to avoid a pin. White wastes some time on the floor as Briscoe tries to get him back. Briscoe hits a big chop before they get back in. White blocks an Urinage, but Briscoe hits chops. White nails a forearm but Briscoe shuts him down with more big shots. White hits a back body drop to drop his shoulder on the apron and down to the floor. White brings him back in but Briscoe hits a kung fu chop to block Blade Runner. White hits a low dropkick to get a two-count. We cut to a break.

Briscoe makes a comeback as we return. He hits knife edge chops before a running forearm. He hits a big boot to drop White off the apron. Briscoe hits an elbow drop on the floor before bringing White into the ring again. White blocks a rack bomb before some counters from both men. Briscoe manages to pull White off the top rope to hit the rack bomb. White hits a couple of dragon screw legs and gets an inside cradle to get a near fall. White hits a sleeper suplex.

Briscoe pushes him to the corner but White hits another sleeper suplex. Briscoe counters Blade Runner with a sleeper suplex of his own. White gets the knees up on froggie bow. White hits Blade Runner to get the pinfall.

Jon Moxley vs Swerve Strickland – Gold League Match for Continental Classic

Mox hits a cutter out of nowhere to get a near fall. Mox hits a Gotch piledriver to get another near fall. Mox hits headbutts. Swerve tries to match him but Mox hits a kick to his knee. Swerve hits a flapjack and a knee. Mox hulks up but Swerve hits him with a dropkick to get a near fall. Swerve hits BCC’s signature stomps and hammer and anvil elbows. He hits House call kick. Moxley pushes Swerve off the top rope when he goes for the Swerve stomp. Mox brings Swerve back to the ring and puts on juji-gatame. Swerve gets his legs to the ropes. Swerve hits a suicide dive when Mox goes to get a chair. Swerve hits a double stomp on a chair on the floor. Swerve hits the Swerve stomp in the ring, but Moxley kicks out somehow. Mox counters the JML Driver and gets him in a pin attempt, holding onto the belt to get the pinfall.

We cut to parking lot where Hangman Adam Page is fighting The Devil’s Goons 4 on 1. The number’s game is too strong for him. The Devil comes out of the car. Two of his associates drop Hangman on the windsheild. The show goes off the air.
