AEW Dynamite Results January 31, 2024- Dealer’s Choice, Mox vs Hardy
AEW Dynamite episode of January 31, 2024 saw Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland choosing opponents for each other. Swerve chose Toa Liona to face Page, but who did Page choose to take on Swerve?
Jon Moxley took on Jeff Hardy in an interesting clash. Taya Valkyrie challenged Deonna Purrazzo while Chris Jericho faced Kyle Fletcher in another singles match. AEW Champion Samoa Joe and AEW Women’s Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm were on the commentary for different matches.

RESULTS & UPDATES
Jon Moxley defeated Jeff Hardy. Hardy’s early flurry was quickly cut off by Moxley. Moxley got into an argument with Mistico and his teammates from CMLL but Hardy could not keep the advantage for long. Moxley took a pen from the commentary table and put it in Hardy’s earlobes. They went back and forth in the final stretch before Hardy hit Twist of Fate and Whisper of the Wind. Mox cut off Swanton bomb before putting on a bulldog choke to get a submission win.
After the match, Hardy showed Moxley middle fingers when Moxley offered a handshake. Mistico’s CMLL stable attacked Moxley in the ring. The security had to run out to take things under control.
Hangman Adam Page defeated Toa Liona in a singles match. A back and forth match ended with back-to-back buckshot lariats from Page for the pinfall.
The Young Bucks fined an employee $500 when he called them by Nick and Matt.
Wardlow defeated Komander in a singles match. Komander had very little offense during the match after he countered a powerbomb with a hurricanrana. He also hit a Pheonix splash before Wardlow slammed him into the mat and hit a powerbomb to get the pinfall.
The Undisputed Kingdom got Komander back in the ring and wanted to teach him a lesson for refusing their offer from last week. Orange Cassidy and others came out to stand with Komander to stop any attack.
AEW Tag Team Champions Ricky Starks & Big Bill sit down with Sting and Darby Allin. Starks said he would make sure Sting doesn’t make it to AEW Revolution while also ridiculing Darby for going out of his way to make sure he stuck with Sting. Big Bill said Sting and Darby had overlooked them and they would not be overlooked no more.
Chris Jericho defeated Kyle Fletcher in a singles match. Jericho chased up Don Callis on the ramp which allowed Fletcher to attack him from behind. After Jericho made his way into the match, Powerhouse Hobbs attacked him from outside behind the referee. In the final minute, Fletcher sent Jericho to the floor where Jericho countered a suicide dive with a Judas Effect. Jericho threw Hobbs into the stairs before hitting another Judas Effect to get the pinfall.
Konosuke Takeshita came out to stare down Jericho before their match next week.
Bang Bang Scissor gang(Bullet Club Gold, The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn) had a segment in the ring with some goofing around.
Donna Purrazzo defeated Taya Valkyrie in a singles match. AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm was on the commentary. Neither woman had long stretch of control throughout the match. In the last minute, Valkyrie ended up catching Toni with a punch when he was hitting Purrazzo near the commentary table. Purrazzo put an armbar in the ring after this to get the submission win.
Swerve Strickland defeated Rob Van Dam in a hardcore match. As Hangman Page was supposed to choose Swerve’s opponent, he revealed RVD as a surprise. Page also announced the match as a hardcore match. RVD was able to hit all of his famous moves and had Swerve in trouble. Brian Cage came out to attack RVD, but Hook was quick to attack Cage and took him backstage. RVD missed a frog splash on a steel chair and Swerve hit him with House call with a chair, followed by Swerve Stomp to get the pinfall.
After the match, Hangman Page came out and got into Swerve’s face. Page claimed that Swerve beat him twice only with the help from the Mogul Embassy. Swerve got unnerved and called for one last match between them next week. The match was quickly made official.
