AEW Dynamite Results August 7, 2024, Updates, Highlights
AEW Dynamite episode of August 7, 2024, saw MJF facing Kyle Fletcher while Bryan Danielson took on Jeff Jarrett. Mariah May was also in action while Kamille made her in-ring debut on Dynamite in a handicapped match. Check below for the results.
RESULTS & UPDATES
MJF defeated Kyle Fletcher in AEW American Championship Eliminator Match. Don Callis handed Fletcher a screwdriver to use, but he opted not to. MJF then hit a low blow before hitting a Kangaroo kick and Brainbuster to get the pinfall.
MJF hit Fletcher with his Dynamite Diamond ring to split him open while Will Ospreay was blocked in his dressing room. MJF was setting up Fletcher for Tiger Driver 91, but Ospreay ran out and MJF ran away.
A video package aired for Bryan Danielson vs Jeff Jarrett match.
Mariah May defeated Viva Van in a singles match. Mariah dominated the match throughout and finished with Storm Zero to get the pinfall.
After the match, Mariah recieved a picture as a gift from Toni Storm which had “Die Mariah Die” written on it. Toni attacked Mariah from behind. They brawled for a while and Toni tried to hit Mariah with the white shoe that May attacked her last month during her heel turn, but officials came between them and separated them.
Jack Perry got a video promo where he asked Darby Allin what price was he willing to pay.
Darby Allin cut a promo in reply after the break, saying that he would have lit Perry on fire at Blood & Guts, but Perry would have used that as an excuse to not show up at All In.
Katsuyori Shibata defeated Bryan Keith in a singles match via submission using a cross armbreaker.
Big Bill and Chris Jericho attacked Shibata after the match. HOOK returned to make the save.
The other members of Conglomeration, apart from Orange Cassidy, were not able to make it to the show. Cassidy promised to fight tonight as he found some “Local boys ready to fight.”
Renee Paquette talked to a very frustrated Hangman Page. Page said justice was getting delayed but he would get what he wanted.
Swerve Strickland had an interview with Jim Ross about AEW All In where he promised to beat Danielson and take possession of his legacy.
Orange Cassidy & FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) defeated The Beast Mortos, RUSH & Roderick Strong in a trios match. FTR were the local boys Cassidy reffered to earlier. The match ended after some frentic action when FTR hit Shatter Machine on Rush to get the pinfall.
The Acclaimed(Anthony Bowens & Max Caster) came out to confront FTR which led to a brawl and the two sided had to be separated.
The Patriarchy’s Christian Cage, Mother Wayne, Killswitch and Nick Wayne cut a promo backstage. Cage said House of Black and the Bang Bang Gang want title shot. So, they would collide on AEW Collision this week in a #1 Contenders Match for the AEW World Trios Titles. The winner would face The Patriarchy at All In. Cage would also be the special referee at Collision.
A vignette aired for Hologram.
Kamille(w/ Mercedes Mone) defeated Jazmyne Hao & Clara Carter in a Handicap Match via pinfall.
Mercedes Mone cut a promo insulting Britt Baker. Tony Schiavone interrupted her to tell her that Baker’s suspension was lifted. Baker appeared on the big screen via satellite to say that she would be the first woman to defeat Mercedes when they face off at Wembley Stadium.
A video package for Swerve Strickland vs Bryan Danielson match was shown next.
We saw recap of Claudio Castagnoli earning a shot at AEW Continental Championship. He would come face-to-face with Kazuchiiiika Okada next week.
Bryan Danielson defeated Jeff Jarrett in an Anything Goes match after hitting Busaika Knee using a chair.
Danielson and Jarrett showed each other respect after the match. Swerve Strickland came out to have face-to-face with Danielson. Swerve also said he would take on Wheeler Yuta next. Yuta was already out to celebrate with Danielson and accepted the challenge.
