AEW Dynamite Blood & Guts 2024 Results, July 24, Updates
Blood & Guts special returned to AEW Dynamite on July 24, 2024, in Nashville, TN. Team AEW and Team Elite clashed in The Blood & Guts match. Chris Jericho faced Minoru Suzuki to defend FTW title. Britt Baker and Hikaru Shida clash in a big singles match. Mariah May and PAC were also in action. Check below for the complete results from AEW Dynamite Blood & Guts 2024 special.
RESULTS & UPDATES
AEW International Champion MJF(Maxwell Jacob Friedman) came out to the ring with some cheerleaders. He called Will Ospreay a “Gutless Coward” for not hitting Tiger Driver 91 while also claimed that he did not break a sweat in beating him. He threw the International Championship in the trash and revealed a new AEW American Championship. Will Ospreay ran out attack him, but MJF scurried away. Ospreay announced their rematch for the title at All In. He also took out the original International Championship out of the trash and took it.
Bryce Remsburg was backstage for the coin flip to decide the Blood & Guts advantage. He found that The Elite had laid out Christopher Daniels backstage. Matthew Jackson flipped a coin, and declared that The Elite would have the advantage. The Elite were worried about Hangman Adam Page being missing, but Matthew assured them that Hangman would be by their side in the match.
Chris Jericho(c) defeated Minoru Suzuki in a singles match to retain FTW Championship. Suzuki came out of Walls of Jericho but Jericho also blocked a piledriver to hit a low blow and Judas Effect to get the pinfall.
After the match, Suzuki hit Jericho with a cradle piledriver. Bryan Keith and Big Bill attacked Suzuki. Katsuyori Shibata made his return to save Suzuki.
Willow Nightingale was giving an interview to Renee Paquette, but Kris Statlander attacked her. Stokely Hathaway challenged Willow to defend CMLL Women’s Championship against Statlander next week.
We saw how Jeff Jarrett gave Bryan Danielson a pep talk backstage for All In.
Britt Baker defeated Hikaru Shida in a singles match. This was Baker’s first match since her return from injury. Shida had hit Michinoku Driver but Baker then put her in lockjaw to get the submission win.
After the match, Mercedes Mone came out. She turned down Baker’s challenge for a match at All In. As Baker was distracted, Kamille attacked her before taking her out with a Torture Rack.
The Patriarchy were backstage where Christian Cage announced that Nick Wayne would compete in the Royal Rampage on Friday. Wayne then noticed Kip Sabian standing by and asked him why he was following him before warning to eliminate him from Royal Rampag.
PAC defeated Boulder in a singles match. This was a squash match which ended with a missile dropkick and brainbuster.
Team AEW cut a promo ahead of tonight’s main event. Swerve Strickland proclaimed himself the leader, which fired up Darby Allin, who said it was not about Strickland or any of them but about the heart of the company.
Mariah May defeated Kaitland Alexis in a singles match. Alexis was an enhancement talent whom Mariah finished quickly with a hip attack and Storm Zero.
Toni Storm attacked Mariah after the match but was pulled away by the security. Storm screamed at Mariah that she better be prepared to die at AEW All In, because she is.
Team AEW(Swerve Strickland, Mark Briscoe, Darby Allin Anthony Bowens & Max Caster) defeated Team Elite(Matthew Jackson, Nicolas Jackson, Jack Perry, Kazuchika Okada and Hangman Adam Page) in Blood & Guts match. Team Elite was tied up in handcuffs at the end. Matthew Jackson quit for Team Elite when Darby Allin threatened to put them on fire.
