Paul Costa Reveals Elbow Surgery Due to Infection Before UFC 294

Paulo Costa posted a picture of his right elbow, which seemed to have been infected. In an Instagram post on Monday morning, Costa disclosed that he had surgery three weeks ago.
Despite the infection and surgery, Paulo Costa seems undeterred and remains focused on his upcoming important bout against Chimaev at UFC 294.
Costa and Khamzat Chimaev are set to face each other at UFC 294 event in a middleweight bout. UFC 294 event is scheduled for October 21, 2023, at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. This bout holds significant importance for both fighters, as neither of them has competed in a fight in 2023.
Paulo Costa was initially scheduled to compete at UFC 291 against Ikram Aliskerov, but that fight was ultimately canceled. His most recent match took place at UFC 278, where he secured a victory over Luke Rockhold by unanimous decision. Currently, Costa’s UFC record stands at 6 wins, 2 losses, and 0 draws.
