Drew McIntyre(c) vs AJ Styles – Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match For WWE Championship
WWE official Adam Pearce announced a set of matches to find the new #1 contender to face WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. Matt Riddle defeated Sheamus, Keith Lee defeated WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley and AJ Styles defeated Randy Orton to advance to a triple threat match. AJ Styles then defeated Keith Lee & Matt Riddle in that match to earn the right to face Drew McIntyre at WWE TLC 2020. It was also announced that it will be a traditional Tables, Ladders & Chairs match.
During the buildup to the match, The Miz and John Morrison also started feuding with McIntyre alongside AJ. Sheamus, who has a history with McIntyre, joined the WWE Champion to face the heel trio in an handicapped match.
Roman Reigns(c) vs Kevin Owens – Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match For WWE Universal Championship Match
After Team SmackDown lost to Team RAW in the traditional Survivor Series match, Roman Reigns lashed out at Jey Uso and told him that the other members of Team SmackDown did not respect Jey, and in turn, they did not respect Reigns or their family. This led to an enraged Jey attacking Kevin Owens with a steel chair during their match at SmackDown 27 November episode. Owens turned it around and took down Jey with multiple stunners.
The following week, Owens challenged Reigns to a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match for the Universal Championship at TLC, which Reigns accepted. On 11 December SmackDown episode, Roman and Jey brutalized Owens with steel chairs.
Sasha Bank(c) vs Carmella – WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship Match
After vignettes over the several weeks and being revealed as the mystery woman, Carmella finally attacked SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks on 6 November episode of SmackDown. Over the next two weeks, Carmella continued her attacks on Banks, but Banks returned the favor on the 27 November episode, attacking Carmella during her backstage vignette. The following week, a title match between the two was scheduled for TLC.
Randy Orton vs The Fiend – Firefly Inferno Match
Randy Orton appeared on “A Moment of Bliss” on the following RAW after winning the WWE Championship from Drew McIntyre at Hell in a Cell. The Fiend inserted himself into the storyline by appearing several times during the segments. Orton then lost the title back to Drew McIntyre on 16 November episode of RAW.
During Orton’s match vs AJ Styles to earn another opportunity for the title, The Fiend caused distraction a few times to cause Orton the match. Orton was announced to face The Fiend at TLC. Before that Orton challenged Wyatt’s Firefly Fun House character for a match on the 7 December episode of Raw, which ended in a no-contest after the lights went out after an RKO from Orton. The Fiend then appeared and choked out Orton with the Mandible Claw.
The following week, Orton played hide and seek with Wyatt before attacking him and putting him in a crate. After Orton put the crate on fire, The Fiend appeared from inside the crate and choked out Orton once again with the Mandible Claw. WWE then changed the match stipulation to a Firefly Inferno match(a variation of Inferno match).
Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax(c) vs Asuka & TBD – WWE RAW Women’s Championship Match
Starting with September 14 epsiode of Raw, Nia Jax performed a Samoan drop on Lana through an announce table for the next nine weeks. On the 12 October RAW episode, Lana won a battle royal by last eliminating Natalya to earn a Raw Women’s Championship match against Asuka. However, she lost the title match against Asuka the following week. Later, Lana won a fatal four-way match to win a spot on the women’s team for Team Raw at Survivor Series, where she emerged as the sole survivor after being ordered to not take part in the match by her teammates.
The following night on Raw, Lana was granted another Raw Women’s Championship match against Asuka, but the match ended in a no-contest after Jax and Baszler interfered. This resulted in an impromptu non-title tag team match where Lana and Asuka defeated Jax and Baszler. The following week, Lana and Asuka defeated the champions once more in another non-title match. Jax and Baszler were subsequently scheduled to defend the Women’s Tag Team Championship against Lana and Asuka at TLC. On the 14 December episode of Raw, after defeating Jax, Lana was attacked by Jax and Baszler and caused to be removed from the match.
The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) (c) vs The Hurt Business (Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin) – WWE RAW Tag Team Championship Match
WWE RAW Tag Team Champions New Day(Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) defended their titles against the Hurt Business pair of Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander on back to back RAW episodes of 16 & 23 November 2020. Another match was then announced between them for TLC 2020.
Drew McIntyre(c) vs AJ Styles – Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match For WWE Championship
Preview – Last couple of months has been quite eventful for Drew McIntyre. First, he lost the WWE title to Randy Orton at Hell in a Cell, only to win it back just three weeks later. His rivalry with Roman Reigns ended in a loss at Survivor Series. That makes it two losses in a row as a WWE Champion on consecutive PPVs.
On the other hand, AJ Styles has not been pinned since returning to RAW at WWE Draft 2020. His angle with the new bodyguard is yet to unfold properly but his credibility has certainly increased since coming back to RAW. The cocky heel character along with the brutal beating that he gave to Sheamus and McIntyre in recent weeks has certainly helped his case. But will this result in another WWE Title run?
Prediction – Drew McIntyre to retain the title.
Roman Reigns(c) vs Kevin Owens – Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match For WWE Universal Championship Match
Preview – Roman’s obsession for being the Tribal Cheif and earn respect from fear has led to Jey Uso venting his frustration on Kevin Owens. Owens, on his part, saw through the situation and called out Roman himself rather than continue to fiddle with Jey. This has resulted in Roman showing the colder side of his character
Prediction – It’s hard to see the Universal title changing hands anytime before WrestleMania. Roman Reigns to win.
Sasha Bank(c) vs Carmella – WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship Match
Preview – Sasha Banks is coming out hot after beating Bayley at Hell in a Cell 2020 and then WWE RAW Women’s Champion Asuka at Survivor Series 2020. Two of the top women in WWE. Who is next for her? It’s the new version of Carmella- heel, blonde, and more menacing that we had seen in the past. But will it be enough to dethrone Sasha, who is probably the hottest women’s champion in the business right now.
Prediction – Sasha Banks to remain the top woman of the blue brand beyond TLC 2020.
Randy Orton vs The Fiend – Firefly Inferno Match
Preview – WWE wanted Orton to add to his 13 World titles and they went on to crown him the champion at Hell in a Cell. Though, whatever they had in mind after that, failed to get through. This resulted in a short 3 weeks title reign and the Fiend getting into a rivalry with him, which gave both men something to do before they could move on to something bigger for WrestleMania season.
Prediction – The Fiend to get revenge on Orton for the loss at WrestleMania 33.
The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) (c) vs The Hurt Business (Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin) – WWE RAW Tag Team Championship Match
Prediction – Hurt Business to add the tag team titles to their collection.
