WWE SmackDown episode of March 29, 2024, was the second last episode of blue brand before WrestleMania XL event. It saw the arrival of Jade Cargill to Smackdown as the contracted talent for the first time.
Bianca Belair was set for a singles match against Dakota Kai. Two tag team matches were also announced which were for two challenger teams in tag team title match at WrestleMania. A-Town Down Under faced The Street Profits while New Catch Republic faced Legado Del Fanstama. Check below for results and updates from WWE SmackDown March 29, 2024.
RESULTS & UPDATES
Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson & Elton Prince) defeated Kevin Owens & Randy Orton in a tag team match. Orton was pulled off the apron by Wilson. So, Orton smacked his head onto the announce table. Prince also went out to fight Orton. Logan Paul snucked into the ring and punched Owens with his brass knuckles while the referee was busy looking outside. Prince pinned Owens to get the win.
Orton was scolding Owens after the match until he saw the replay of the finish. Orton then got out of the ring and pulled Logan out from under the ring. Pretty Deadly tried to save Logan, only for Orton & Owens hit them with an RKO & a Stunner. Logan fled the scene and left the arean in his car.
Iyo Sky was backstage and said she hoped she would never see Bayley again after she beat her at WrestleMania. Bayley attacked Sky after this promo.
Nick Aldis introduced Jade Cargill – the newest signing to Friday Night SmackDown. Cargill came out to the stage and signed the contract to join SmackDown. She said that a storm has arrived.
Dakota Kai was backstage and said that Jade Cargill had done nothing since joining WWE. She claimed that she would finally end things between Damage CTRL & Bianca Belair tonight.
Isla Dawn was backstage and trying to speak to Nick Aldis, but Alba Fyre pulled her away. AJ Styles then went to Nick Aldis and asked Aldis if he had made sure that LA Knight is not in the arena. Aldis replied that Knight is not in the arena.
Bobby Lashley & B-Fab were talking to The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) before their WrestleMania qualifier match. They said that they already had champagne ready in case to celebrate their win.
A-Town Down Under (Grayson Waller & Austin Theory) def. Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) in Six-Pack Ladder Match Qualifier. Karrion Kross & Scarlett attacked Bobby Lashley & B-Fab backstage. This was shown on the big screen and proved to be a distraction for The Street Profits. Theory blocked Ford’s splash after this before countering to get the pinfall.
The Final Testament (Akam, Rezar, Karrion Kross, Scarlett & Paul Ellering) attacked The Street Profits after the match. Lashely ran out to try to make the save and decked Kross, but AOP double-teamed against him to lay him out.
Backstage, Naomi wished Bianca Belair good luck on her match tonight against Dakota Kai tonight. They end up bury the hatchet about their argument over Bayley last week.
After the break, Dominik Mysterio was backstage and apologized to other members of Judgment Day for not informing them about partnering with Legado Del Fantasma for WrestleMania.
New Catch Republic(Pete Dunne & Tyler Bate) defeated Legado Del Fantasma(Angel & Berto) in a Six-Pack Ladder Challenge Qualifier tag team match after hitting Birmingham Hammer to get the pinfall.
AJ Styles came out to the ring and said he would expose LA Knight to be the overachieving fraud that he is. Styles claimed that he knew that Knight was in the building. He first though Knight might be disguised as the cameraman before a hooded figure was stopped by the security jumping the barricade. Styles came out to the floor to unmask this guy, but it turned out to be just some fan. Knight was standing disguised beside the commentary table before he attacked Styles and beat him up for a while in the ring.
Bianca Belair defeated Dakota Kai in a singles match after hitting a spear and KOD to get the pinfall.
Damage CTRL attacked Bianca after the match. Naomi ran out to make the save but was caught up in the number’s game. Jade Cargill then came out and laid out Asuka, Dakota and Kairi Sane one by one to close the show.
