WWE SmackDown Results January 26, 2024- RR Go Home, Solo vs Knight
WWE SmackDown January 26, 2024 episode was live from Kaseya Center in Miami, FL, with 4 big clashes announced for the go-home episode for Royal Rumble 2024 event.
LA Knight takes on Solo Sikoa. Carmelo Hayes and Austin Theory will also run back their match. Carlito and Santos Escobar’s rivalry will come to the fore while Katana Chance and Kayden Carter will defend WWE Women’s Tag Team titles against The Kabuki Warriors.
Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits will come face-to-face with Karrion Kross’ Final Testament faction. Tune in below for the results from SmackDown January 26.
RESULTS & UPDATES
Grammy Award Winner Eladio Carrion came out and he introduced Randy Orton. They hugged in the ring and posed in the corner. Orton plugged Carrion’s new song “RKO” before he cut a promo claiming to win Universal title at Royal Rumble. He was interrupted by AJ Styles who warned him that there was a receipt coming for Orton for hitting Styles with RKO last week. He also said that at Royal Rumble, he would overcome Orton, Roman and LA… LA Knight’s music hit and he came out to stake his own claim to win the title. After Knight left the ring, AJ hit a kick to Orton before dropping him with a Pele kick.
Santos Escobar defeated Carlito in a singles match. Carlito started strong but Escobar was in control lead as we went into the break. Escobar ripped off Carlito’s shirt after the break. Carlito made a comeback. Angel and Humberto attacked Jaoquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro on the floor. Elektra Lopez joined Legado Del Fantasma as she took out Zelina Vega. Carlito was looking at Zelina when Escobar rolled up Carlito from behind to get the pinfall.
The commentary team took us through the big announcements of the week from 2K24 game, The Rock joining TKO board and WWE’s deal with Netflix.
SmackDown GM Nick Aldis welcomed NXT GM Ava to SmackDown. Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits came into the room to pick up his random number from a tumbler full of balls. He showed his number to Aldis before Santos Escobar came in with the rest of Legado Del Fantasma. Lashley told him that he did not forget about him. After Lashley and Profits left, Escobar also picked his number.
After the break, R-Truth picked up his number from the tumbler. R-Truth thought the number was to find out number of day to quarantine before Aldis corrected him.
Bayley gets a video package where she talked about her career so far and how she came up with Damage CTRL, and Kairi Sane and Asuka joining the group recently.
The Kabuki Warriors(Asuka & Kairi Sane) defeated Katana Chance & Kayden Carter to win WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. A back and forth match all the way. Sane had taken down Carter after the break, but Chance broke the pin. Asuka also had to save Sane from the pin after a double team move from the champs. The Kabuki Warriors hit a double team move before Asuka send Carter into the announce table. Sane hit Insane elbow on Chance to get the pinfall.
Backstage, Paul Heyman told Solo Sikoa to take out LA Knight in their match. After Solo left, Heyman motivated Jimmy to enter the Royal Rumble and win it to challenge Seth Rollins to take the title from him.
Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits came out to the ring. Final Testament group came out, but only Scarlett got into the ring while Kross, AOP & Paul Ellering stood on the stage. War of words ensued before Lashley and group wanted to fight. Scarlett did not let Lashley get out of the ring for the brawl, which led to Kross & AOP outnumbering the Street Profits. Final Testament then beat up Lashley in the ring.
Austin Theory defeated Carmelo Hayes in a singles match after holding onto the tights.
After the match, Grayson Waller attacked Hayes as he was protesting to the referee. Trick Willaims made his SmackDown debut to help out Hayes.
LA Knight defeated Solo Sikoa via disqualification. Knight was fighting back after enduring damage from Solo for the most of the match. But, AJ Styles pulled his leg from outside and the referee called the match.
AJ Styles hit Solo with a chair before Jimmy came out. Randy Orton came out and hit Jimmy with a draping DDT. Orton and AJ went back and forth before Orton hit AJ with RKO. Orton posed for a bit before Knight hit him with BFT from behind.
