WWE RAW Results January 15, 2024, Updates, Highlights
WWE RAW was in Little Rock, AR, on January 15, 2024, and featured World Heavyweight Championship match in the main event between Seth Rollins and Jinder Mahal.
Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre had a promo battle to open the show while Judgment Day members were in two different tag team matches. We had many more teases for Royal Rumble 2024 with Gunther announcing for the match while Becky Lynch Rhea Ripley had a face-off. RESULTS
The show opened with a tribute video for Martin Luther King.
We saw Seth Rollins arriving to the arena with his daughter Roux and Jinder Mahal arriving in his SUV.
Cody Rhodes came out for a promo, but soon got interrupted by Drew McIntyre. McIntyre talked about how the similarities in their career, how they left WWE, becoming undeniable to force WWE to bring them back, how they were once a team and won tag team titles, and how Drew’s last match before returning to WWE was against Cody. Cody replied that they aren’t exactly the same, because Drew is always whinning while he thankful for his second run in WWE. Cody finished the promo asking Drew who won the last time they had a match.
Damian Priest confronted R-Truth about selling Judgment Day merchandise. R-Truth handed him a wad of cash as his cut from the sale. Priest let R-Truth sell the shirts, but also told him to not tag into the match when they face off later tonight.
DIY(Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) defeated Dominik Mysterio & JD McDonagh in a tag team match. The match went over for 3 segments with both team taking over control at different intervals. Gargano caught Dominik when he was going for 619 and threw him out. JD kicked out Gargano to the floor but Ciampa hit him with a DDT before Gargano joined him to hit DIY finisher to get the pinfall.
Indi Hartwell & Candice LeRae defeated Chelsea Green & Piper Niven in a tag team match. The match was set up earlier when Green & Piper went to Adam Pearce to ask for a rematch for women’s tag team titles. Pearce set them up to earn the rematch by facing Indi and Candice. Indi and Candice got the pinfall over Chelsea after a double team move.
Judgment Day were backstage arguing about R-Truth’s status. Damian Priest showed them the wad of cash R-Truth handed him, and told them to get their cut.
Intercontinental Champion Gunther made his entrance with Ludwig Kaiser. He announced his entry for Royal Rumble match this year before telling Kaiser that he was proud of him for taking out Kofi Kingston last week. Xavier Woods made his return to RAW and called out Kaiser for a match as a revenge for Kaiser hurting Kofi.
Ludwig Kaiser defeated Xavier Woods via disqualifcation after Woods hit Kaiser with a chair. They continued fighting after the match. Woods tried to hit Kaiser with a steel step, but Kaiser ducked it and ran away.
Bronson Reed cut a video promo saying there is a champion who does not realize that he is holding his belt.
Akira Tozawa defeated Ivar in a singles match. Ivar was looking for a moonsault from the top when Maxxine Dupri distracted him. Tozawa then hit a powerbomb from the top rope to get the pinfall. After the match, Valhalla attacked Maxxine. Ivar also hit Tozawa with a spinning heel kick before Valhalla hit a headbutt on and basement drop kick on Maxxine.
We see CM Punk’s Instagram story where he called out Cody Rhodes to meet him in the ring face-to-face.
Alpha Academy were backstage checking on Maxxine and Tozawa. Ivy Nile came in and said Valhalla should pay for her action. She was going to Adam Pearce to fix a match next week.
Rhea Ripley entered the ring and retariated that its her division as she is the champion, and she was tired of people like Nia Jax claiming it to be theirs. Becky Lynch came out for a promo with her. Becky said she fears that Rhea might be better than her, and that’swhy she has to win Royal Rumble and face Rhea at WrestleMania to prove herself wrong. Rhea replied that the only person who wants Becky to win Royal Rumble more than Becky is Rhea herself. Rhea finished the segment saying that she would see Becky at WrestleMania.
Seth Rollins had an interview backstage where he put over Jinder Mahal saying this is not the Jinder Mahal that he beat to become NXT Champion, but this is a former WWE Champion and most dangerous version of Mahal.
Judgment Day(Damian Priest & Finn Balor) defeated Awesome Truth(The Miz & R-Truth) in a tag team match. R-Truth entered shadowing Judgment Day. He handed Balor and Dominik their share of merchandise sale. There was confusion throughout the match whether R-Truth was fighting for or against Judgment Day. The Miz was taken out before the finish which came after Priest hit a chokeslam on R-Truth for the pinfall.
Jinder Mahal also got interviewed backstage before the main event title match tonight.
Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark defeated Tegan Nox & Natalya in a tag team match. Nox was beaten up for the most part of the match. Natalya got a hot tag, but Shayna cut it short and put on a choke to get the submission.
Shinsuke Nakamura got a pre-recorded promo in Japanese with subtitles. He said his story with Cody Rhodes would end when he wanted. But, he was now focused on Royal Rumble match.
Seth Rollins defeated Jinder Mahal to retain World Heavyweight Championship. Mahal had Indus Sher teammates Veer and Sanga with him at ringside. Damian Priest also came out with his MITB briefcase. Rollins hit Pedigree but Indus Sher put Jinder’s legs under the ropes for a break. Drew McIntyre came out and started brawling with Priest to stop him from a cash-in. Sanga ran a distraction to allow Veer to hit Rollins with the MITB briefcase. Jinder hit Khallas, but Rollins kicked out. The referee then booted Indus Sher from the ringside before Rollins quickly hit the stomp to get the pinfall.
