WWE Crown Jewel 2024 event was scheduled on November 2, 2024. The event aired from Mohammad Abdo Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was the sixth event in Crown Jewel series and 12th WWE event to take place in Saudi Arabia.

The event had a special start time of 1 PM ET. The main event is a WWE Crown Jewel Championship match between Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Gunther.

During Bad Blood 2024 event, Paul Levesque(Triple H) announced the start of a yearly tradition with Crown Jewel 2024. Triple H revealed that World Champions from RAW and SmackDown men’s and women’s divisions would clash at Crown Jewel for WWE Crown Jewel Championship and WWE Women’s Crown Jewel Championship every year going forward. SmackDown’s Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes would clash with RAW’s World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. Similarly, RAW’s Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan would face SmackDown’s WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax.

Seth Rollins vs Bronson Reed: Reed attacked Rollins out of nowhere on RAW August 5 episode when he was trying to confront CM Punk. Rollins was out of action for two months after this. He returned to cost Reed a match against Braun Strowman at RAW September 30 episode. Rollins and Reed were then involved in several brawls after this and got involved three times on RAW October 21 episode. After this, their match was announced for Crown Jewel.

United States Championship: Andrade and Carmelo Hayes had a series of matches on SmackDown from July 2024 onwards. The seventh match of the series was announced between them for October 25, 2024 SmackDown episode with the winner getting a shot at United States Championship. Also, United States Champion LA Knight was made the special guest referee for the match. The match ended in a no-contest after Knight attacked both men during the match. As a result, SmackDown General Manager Adam Pearce announced that a triple threat match would take place at Crown Jewel 2024 between Knight, Andrade and Hayes.

Women’s Tag Team Championship: On SmackDown October 25 episode, Damage CTRL’s Kairi Sane and Iyo Sky(from RAW), Chelsea Green and Piper Niven(From SmackDown) and Meta-Four’s Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson(from NXT) were arguing backstage between themselves about gettting the next tag team title shot. The General Managers of 3 brands and Women’s Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill told them that all 3 teams would get the title shot at Crown Jewel in a Fatal 4-Way match.

Randy Orton vs Kevin Owens: Kevin Owens was mad at Cody Rhodes for teaming up with Roman Reigns at Bad Blood due to his history with Roman and also since Owens helped Cody in fighting off the Bloodline since WrestleMania. He eventually attacked Cody in the parking lot after Bad Blood. Randy Orton tried to keep things good between Cody and Owens, but Owens also attacked him on SmackDown October 11 episode. The following week, Orton demanded a match against Owens, but SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis denied him. On October 25 SmackDown episode, Orton confronted Triple H, WWE’s CCO, about the same. Triple H then granted Orton the match against Owens at Crown Jewel.

The Bloodline Tag Team Match: Roman Reigns took a hiatus from WWE after he lost Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania. Solo Sikoa took over The Bloodline and announced himself to be the Tribal Chief. He also kicked out Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman from the group while adding Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and Jacob Fatu to the group. At SummerSlam, Sikoa challenged Rhodes for the title in, during which, The Bloodline attempted to interfere. Roman returned and cost Sikoa that match. Reigns and Rhodes then had to team up to face Sikoa and Fatu at Bad Blood. Jimmy returned during that match to help Roman to fend off The Tongans and Fatu, leading to Roman and Cody getting the win. On October 11 SmackDown episode, Jimmy tried to get Roman to bring Jey back into the fold, but Roman was against the idea. Jimmy then went to Raw October 14 episode to attempt to make amends himself, but Jey declined. Sikoa also tried to recruit Jey but he also declined them. They ended up causing Jey to lose his Intercontinental Championship on RAW October 21 episode. Jey returned the favor by causing The Tongans to lose WWE Tag Team Championship on October 25 SmackDown episode. Later on that episode, Jimmy and Jey embraced to signal that The Usos were back togehter, but Roman only watched them. On RAW October 28 episode, Jey said he would try to make amends with Roman. On the same night, it was announced that Reigns and The Usos would face The Bloodline at Crown Jewel.
