Tiffany Stratton Injury Update: Out of NXT Homecoming After SmackDown Spot

Tiffany Stratton WWE Women's Championship

WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton has been pulled from the upcoming NXT Homecoming 2025 event after suffering a possible head injury during her match on Friday Night SmackDown (September 12, 2025).

This page provides complete coverage of her injury, medical status, WWE’s backup plans, and all future updates until her official return. Similar to other recent WWE injuries and medical updates, this situation may significantly impact ongoing storylines.

What Happened to Tiffany Stratton?

On the September 12 episode of SmackDown, Tiffany defended her WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill. During the contest, she attempted a moonsault off the ring post but landed badly, apparently hitting her head on the floor.

The match ended in a double count-out, followed by a light run-in attack from Nia Jax, who visibly took extra care to protect Tiffany during the segment.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio (Bryan Alvarez), Stratton smashed her head on the ground during the moonsault attempt, which directly led to WWE’s medical team not clearing her for in-ring competition.

Tiffany Stratton Out of NXT Homecoming

On Monday, NXT General Manager Ava announced that Stratton would no longer be part of the scheduled Six-Woman Tag Team Match at Homecoming. Instead, Lyra Valkyria has been added as her replacement, teaming up with Rhea Ripley and Stephanie Vaquer.

Originally, Tiffany was scheduled to team with Ripley and Vaquer against Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Jazmyn Nyx.

WWE Plans Affected

Tiffany’s sudden injury has already forced WWE to restructure the NXT Homecoming card, but it could have even bigger consequences. Her injury may also affect upcoming title defenses across Raw, SmackDown, and NXT.

If WWE doctors confirm a concussion or more serious damage, Stratton may even be forced to vacate the championship — which could trigger major storyline changes in the women’s division.
