Finn Balor(c) vs Kyle O’ Rielly – NXT Championship
Finn Balor’s opponent for NXT TakeOver was decided by a Gauntlet Elimination match on NXT episode of 23 September 2020. Kyle O’ Rielly won the elimination match by defeating the likes of Cameroon Grimes, Timothy Thatcher and others.
Io Shirai(c) vs Winner of Battle Royal – NXT Women’s Championship
Io Shirai will defend the NXT Women’s Championship against Candice Le Rae who won the Battle Royal on NXT 23 September episode.
Damian Priest(c) vs Johnny Gargano – NXT North American Championship
William Regal announced on NXT 23 September episode that Damian Priest will have to defend the NXT North American title against Johnny Gargano. The rivalry between Gargano and Preist started with an attack from Gargano on Priest.
Santos Escobar vs Isaiah “Swerve” Scott – NXT Cruiserweight Championship
The NXT Cruiserweight title rematch between Isaiah “Swerve” Scott and Santos Escobar was announced for TakeOver: 31. In the earlier title match, Escobar used his loaded Lucha mask to hit Scott and pin him to retain the title. Scott later pinned Escobar during a six-man tag team match where he partnered with Fandango to take on Legado Del Fantasma.
KUSHIDA vs Velveteen Dream
Velveteen Dream returned to face Kushida and Cameroon Grimes in a triple threat match on NXT. Kushida rolled up Dream to get the win in that match which led to Dream attacking Kushida afterward. Kushida then retaliated with an attack on Dream the next week. During the #1 contender Gauntlet Eliminator match, Dream interfered and cost Kushida the match. Later, NXT announced that these two men will face-off at NXT TakeOver 31 to settle the rivalry.
