Dustin Rhodes aka Goldust left WWE last month and joined AEW to set up the match against his brother and AEW Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes. During their time in WWE, they only faced each other only once at Fastlane 2015 other than matches at Live events.

When Cody Rhodes entered at MGM Arena during the show, a giant iron cross, with skulls studded on it, appeared on stage with him. The throne was reeking of references of Triple H. And if that was not enough, Cody used Hunter’s trademark sledgehammer to destroy that throne.

The brother then fought out to a brutal match where Dustin lost a lot of blood. Brandi Rhodes, who was in Cody’s corner for the match, kept interfering to the point that the referee had to boot her from ringside. After the match, both brothers got back into the ring as the crowd gave a standing ovation. Cody also announced that they will face the Young Bucks at Fight for the Fallen on 13 July in Jacksonville.
