This was the seventh UFC event to take place in China while fourth event in Macau city(first one since 2014).
UFC announced on September 25, 2024, that a bantamweight bout between former UFC Bantamweight Champion Petr Yan and former UFC Flyweight Champion Davieson Figueiredo would headline this event.
The final bouts for bantamweight, flyweight and women’s strawweight tournament from Road to UFC season 3 were also booked on this show. The featherweight final was also scheduled between Kangjie Zhu vs Bin Xie. But, it had to be postponed due to an injury to Zhu.
