Puja Tomar has inked a contract with UFC, becoming the first-ever Indian woman to sign with the promotion.

The reigning Matrix Fight Night Strawweight Champion, Puja Tomar, has just made an unexpected announcement on her Instagram post, confirming her official signing with the UFC.

Puja thanked Ayesha Shroff and Matrix Fight Night promotion for their support in securing her UFC contract. This marks a historic moment as she becomes the first Indian female fighter in UFC. Hailing from a modest background in Budhana, Uttar Pradesh, she now has the entire nation supporting her.

Puja Tomar is currently on a four-fight winning streak. Her recent fight was at Matrix Fight Night 12 event, where she defeated Anastasia Feofanova by KO. With a record of 8 wins and 4 losses, it seems her upcoming fight will be held within the UFC octagon.

Anshul Jubli, hailing from India, competes in the featherweight division and boasts experience as a veteran of Matrix Fight Night. He is set to face Mike Breeden at UFC 294, scheduled at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on the upcoming Saturday.
