Asuka vs Charlotte Flair vs Bianca Belair Set for WWE SummerSlam 2023

Asuka will defend her WWE Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair at WWE Summer Slam 2023 PLE.  

Earlier on Friday, WWE announced that Asuka’s SummerSlam opponent would be revealed on SmackDown. WWE made the match official on the July 21 episode of SmackDown, saying that Asuka will defend her WWE Women’s Championship in a triple threat match against Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair.

Asuka won WWE Women’s Championship at the Night of Champions PPV event by defeating Bianca Belair. Since losing the match, Belair has been actively seeking a rematch to reclaim the title she lost. During the June 9 episode of SmackDown, Charlotte Flair made her return and challenged Asuka for the Women’s Championship match.

During the June 30 episode of SmackDown, Flair got her title opportunity. But, Asuka managed to retain the title, as the match ended in disqualification because of Belair’s interference.

During the July 14 episode of SmackDown, Belair got her rematch for WWE Women’s Championship, and the result was the same as the match ended with a disqualification because of Flair’s interference.

There is a constant threat of Iyo Sky cashing in her women’s Money in the Bank contract during the SummerSlam match, which is heavily rumored at this point. Iyo has already failed to cash it in twice in the last two weeks.

WWE SummerSlam 2023 is scheduled for August 5 in Detroit, MI. The World Heavyweight Championship match is also scheduled for the event between Seth Rollins and Finn Balor.
