Samoa Joe’s Opponent Revealed For ROH Death Before Dishonor 2023
Samoa Joe is set to defend ROH Television Championship against a tournament winner at Death Before Dishonor 2023 PPV.
ROH announced on Thursday that a 4-man ROH Television Championship Eliminator Tournament would take place on July 13 and July 20 episodes of ROH on Honor Club. The winner of this knockout tournament will then take on Samoa Joe for the TV title at Death Before Dishonor.
Dalton Castle defeated Tony Nese in the 1st semifinal of the tournament while Shane Taylor defeated Captain Shawn Dean in the 2nd semifinal. Castle and Taylor will clash in the final on next week’s ROH TV episode in the final.

Both Shane Taylor and Dalton Castle are former ROH TV Champions. Taylor held the title between May 2019 to December 2019. Castle was the champion for 22 days between November 2021 to December 2021.
Samoa Joe won ROH Television Championship on April 13, 2022 edition of AEW Dynamite by beating Minoru Suzuki. He has defended the title successfully against 12 different opponents.
Joe was recently part of 2023 Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament where he lost to CM Punk in the semifinal.
This is just the second match to be confirmed for ROH Death Before Dishonor 2023 PPV event, which is scheduled for July 21 in Trenton, NJ. Claudio Castagnoli was set to defend ROH World Championship against Mark Briscoe, but Briscoe is out of the event due to injury.
