A top-ranked women’s flyweight bout is added to UFC Singapore event as Talia Santos is set to face Erin Blanchfield.
According to the report of MMA Junkie, Santos and Blanchfield are rebooked for UFC Singapore event on August 26. This bout was first reported by Freak MMA on Instagram.
Santos and Blanchfield were earlier scheduled to fight on February 18 UFC Fight Night event as the headliner. But Santos withdrew from the fight because of logistical issues. Former UFC Strawweight champion Jessica Andrade replaced Santos at the event, where Blanchfield defeated Andrade by second-round submission.
Taila Santos has won 4 fights and lost only one in her recent five bouts. The one loss came against Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 275 PPV, where she lost vai split decision. Santos is currently ranked at #3 in the UFC women’s flyweight division.
Erin Blanchfield is on a 8-fights winning streak and has not lost a single fight in her UFC career. She has defeated Molly McCann, JJ Aldrich, and many more tough competitors to come this long way. Blanchfield is currently ranked at #4 in the UFC women’s flyweight division.
UFC Fight Night Singapore is scheduled for August 26 at Singapore Indoor Stadium. The main event is between Max Holloway and Chan Sung Jung. A light heavyweight rematch between Anthony Smith and Ryan Spann is also added to the show.
