Erin Blanchfield Fights Talia Santos at UFC Vegas 69 After New UFC Deal
Erin Blanchfield is getting a chance to crack the top half of women’s flyweight rankings as she faces Talia Santos at UFC Vegas 69.
Blanchfield herself confirmed the bout to Morning Kombat when she joined their podcast. Blanchfield confirmed that she has signed a new 4-fights deal with UFC and has also signed on fight Talia Santos.
Blanchfield’s manager Oren Hodak also confirmed Blanchfield vs Santos flyweight bout will take place on February 18, 2023. The event does not have a headliner yet, and this bout might end up as the main event.
Talia Santos was last seen fighting UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 275 in May this year. She lost the bout via a close split decision. Santos suffered an injury in the aftermath of the bout which delayed her return to the octagon.
The loss to Shevchenko broke Santos’ 4 fights winning streak with wins over Molly McCann, Gillian Robertson, Roxanne Modafferi and Joanne Wood. Santos is currently ranked at #2 in UFC Women’s Flyweight rankings.
Eric Blanchfield made her name in Invicta FC before making her way to UFC. She remains undefeated in the promotion in four bouts with her last two bouts coming via submission. She last defeated Molly McCann at UFC 281 PPV in November.
UFC Vegas 69 has multiple bouts lined up including Oliver Saint-Preux vs Philipe Lins, and William Knight vs Marcin Prochnio among others.
