Marlon Vera vs Cory Sandhagen Reschedule to Main Event UFC San Antonio

Cory Sandhagen vs Marlon Vera bantamweight clash will not headline UFC Vegas 69 on February 18, 2023, anymore.

Now, this bout will serve as the new main event of UFC Santonio that will take place on March 25, 2023, at the AT&T Center. Initially, Irene Aldana vs Raquel Pennington II was scheduled to headline this event. 

The rebooking was reported by SI.com, and UFC President Dana White himself confirmed this report. However, he hasn’t revealed the new main event of UFC Vegas 69. 

Both Vera and Sandhagen are currently trying to get a shot at the UFC bantamweight title which is currently held by Aljamain Sterling. Vera is currently the #4 ranked bantamweight fighter whereas Sandhagen is ranked at #5. 

Cory Sandhagen lost two of his last three bouts. First, he lost against TJ Dillashaw and Petr Yan. But, then he rebounded from these losses by defeating Song Yadong. 

On the other hand, Marlon Vera is on a four-fight winning streak. Jose Aldo was the last one to defeat Vera in December 2020. Marlon is coming off a fourth-round TKO victory against Dominick Cruz. 

Now, it remains to be seen who will get one step closer to getting a shot at the UFC bantamweight title.
