The date and location for Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois heavyweight title fight are officially announced now.

Oleksandr Usyk, who holds WBA(Super), IBF, WBO & IBO Heavyweight titles, is set to face WBA mandatory challenger and WBA(Regular) Champion Daniel Dubois back in April. August 26, 2023, was long rumored to be the date for this showdown, which is officially announced now.

The fight is set to take place at Tarczynski Arena in Wroclaw, Poland. Alex Krassyuk’s K2 Promotion was in discussion to hold the event in Poland for more than a month. The event is going to be a PPV in UK on TNT Sports Box Office(formerly known as BT Sports Box Office).

Usyk’s manager Alex Krassyuk won the purse bid for Usyk vs Dubois fight back in May this year at $8,057,000 bid. With the purse split being 75-25 in Usyk’s favor, he will recieve $6,042,750, while Dubois will get $2,014,250.

Former Undisputed Cruiserweight Champion Oleksandr Usyk won the unified heavyweight titles from Anthony Joshua back in September 2021 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium via unanimous decision win. He once again defeated Joshua in the rematch in August 2022 in Saudi Arabia to take his record 20-0(13 KOs).

Usyk was actively in discussion with Tyson Fury(WBC Heavyweight Champion) for a fight for undisputed heavyweight titles. Despite long negotiations, a deal could not be made. WBA then ordered Usyk to face mandatory challenger Dubois to defend his title next.

Dubois, promoted by Queensbery Promotions, became the interim WBA Champion by beating Bogdan Dinu back in June 2021. He won WBA(Regular) title in June 2022 by beating Trevor Bryan. His last bout came in December 2022 against Kevin Lerena on the undercard of Tyson Fury vs Derek Chisora PPV event.
